My boiler is saying the pressure is too low, so it won't heat up. Should I be getting a pro out to sort it, or is it an easy fix?

It's an easy fix, there should be a little knob / stopcock thing on the bottom of the boiler, you just turn that for a few seconds and it fills it back up, just keep an eye on the dial.

There should be a valve that will allow you to re-pressurise if it's a combi boiler but if you don't know what you're doing call your landlord, tell them your boiler ain't working and get them to sort it asap.

That was the plan, but they can't get anyone around until Monday. If it's an easy fix, then that's better than a weekend with no hot water.

Not all boilers have the same configuration and it's not always obvious what the correct valve is so contrary to the previous advice it's not always that simple.

Have a look online and see If you can find the manual for the boiler. There should be a model number on it somewhere.

I have recently come into possession of about fifty miniature whisky bottles. All of them are unopened and in excellent condition.

Where is best to get them properly valued? Also, is there anywhere in Aberdeen that I could contact?

I'm not sure about anywhere based in Aberdeen, but I tend to recommend an auction house based in Glasgow who have specialists in wine and whisky; McTears.

Out of personal curiosity, I wouldn't mind knowing some of the bottles you've acquired...

Thanks for that!

I don't have them to hand at the moment but I'm planning on taking individual pictures of them so I'll get back to you. Most of them are pretty weird looking and as far as I know have been collected from around the world from as early as the 1930's.

Sounds like it could be a really interesting collection. My interest is primarily in Scotch at the moment, but it'd be great to see what was collected from around the world. If you do get round to taking some photos, I'd be very interested to see them.

Whisky porn!

What I think should be done with them is this: YoungA and CoolThinker are put together in a room and they proceed to drink all the whisky. They then spend the whole night posting on the board. The rest of us place bets on how many posts and threads are locked / deleted etc by the mods once they wake up in the morning. The winner gets 50 mini bottles of whisky provided by JakeBassist who will at first refuse this role until threatened with the possibility of the event happening next to a school.
