Pet Hates!

I didn't know I was owed it until last year, when I filled out a claim form to find out if I was owed anything. Turns out I was, and they said it'd be sent soon. Then they sent it to my old address. They also say "Allow 16 weeks for delivery" as I think they send outgoing mail by carrier pigeon. Disabled ones.

Woah, woah, woah!

a) Can anyone apply for a rebate?

b) Where do I get this claim form to see if I'm owed anything?

c) If I owe them money will they take it from me?

d) What information do you need to claim? P60s and that?

I wrote to them pretty much saying:

"Oi. I've worked for loads of agencies, and I'm pretty sure I got tax raped for about a year. Do you owe me money? I think you do, so give me it now, yeah?"

They wrote back about 3 months later with an enclosed form. I sent it back with everything I had, which was a couple of P60's, Tax Code letters etc. Not much. I got a letter saying I was owed a few hundred quid. Months later it didn't arrive. I phoned them back in April. Turns out they sent out to the wrong address (even though they'd replied to me twice to the right address!!). They're sending another one to me, which they said can take "up to 16 weeks", which is a bit mental.

So yeah, it's a lengthy process, but if you want to get a cheque for your overpaid tax in about 18 months time, you should get them on the blower.

Point C - If you owe them money the bastards will certainly get it back! Many years ago I hadnt realised I'd been on a lower tax code than I should have been (their mistake, not mine). I ended up owing them about 2.5k, which they kindly let me pay back over the next two years on a much higher tax code!

I'm the same, my tax code should've changed immediately when i informed them that i have a company car. The sods left it the same 'til April/May this year leaving me on an even lower tax-code until this time next year. Cocks.

People who post on Facebook that they have passed their driving theory test and then the people who congratulate them. It's literally one of the easiest things I've ever done. How can people consider it an achievement?

People who think that just because something is easy for them then it is easy for every single person in the world.

I found the Hazard Perception thing to be a proper bitch. But the other half of it was easy as. It's weird, some people seem to find it really tough and doesn't make any sense and then everyone else finds it easy as it gets.

I think I got three questions wrong in the first bit because they were completely obscure things, then got like 47/70 for the hazard perception (since it's pretty much all reactions).

I just read that its been made a lot harder recently as well. I did mine about 5 years ago.

Speaking of tests, I just did a numerical reasoning test for a job I'm in line for. 50 questions in 50 minutes. About half of them were proper convoluted and tricky, really, really hard. They would be ok if there was more than a minute per question. Great Odin's Raven, I feel mentally challenged now.

Upstream Research Analyst for N. Africa and Middle East for Wood Mackenzie. Seriously, the practice questions were like: 23+57=112-?, but the actual questions involved retrospective discounting and OTHER MAD SHIT that takes way more than a minute to answer. Maybe I'm not as think as I smart I am.
