Little Green Posted January 9, 2014 Report Share Posted January 9, 2014 Looking for a new tv 32 inch. Am I better to buy new or try grab a bargain off gumtree? I want it to have built in freeview. Would prefer to have built in DVD player too although I do have my ps3 if needs be. Cheapest new looks to be around 200 from Asda and tesco and they don't have built in DVD player I don't think. There is a cello branded one on ebuyer for 200 or an unbranded one on play.com for 175 both with built in freeview and DVD player. Or I can get one off guntree with built ok freeview only for 120 but then it's second hand and no comeback if it breaks. What you reckon buy new or is gumtree worth the risk? Meaning, the best quality TVs in your price bracket won't have a built in dvd player. The ones that do will be compensating for a lack of build/image quality.I consider TVs like matresses. I.e. get the best one you can afford and don't buy second hand. Something you use so much should be exactly to your liking and durable.
