timson
10,000s of people are buying "killing in the name" by Rage Against the Machine to stop the xfactor winner's song reaching number one this xmas.Be quite funny seeing that.ful article here:Rage Against The X-Factor - Touching The Void
paranoid
Going by the number of people on the Facebook group, they would each need to buy the song about 13 times to make a dent in the average X Factor number one sales. Nice idea in theory, but pretty much just a pipedream.
delboy
there's also a facebook group trying to get journey's don't stop believing to the xmas number one. I think everyone who despises the x factor should all come together, find a song and wipe that smug smile off cowell's face!

RF Scott
I'm sure Sony are going to be really upset that, in an effort to disrupt The X Factor getting to number one, people will be buying a download of another of their artists, Rage Against The Machine. It's fucking stupid. Let's stick it to the man by giving him more money! In theory, it'd be great. But, as a friend pointed out, it'd have to be someone like Burzum or Minutemen to truly make sense.MINUTEMEN FOR CHRISTMAS NUMBER ONE
Murrr
Fuck that shit, let's get Sunn0)) to number 1. I'm sure that would go down well with the X-Factor crowd.
Spoonie
isn't the singles chart based purely on the sales that week? that';s how I'd always understood it
Soda Jerk
I'm with Murrr. It would be better if it was something that sounded absolutely horrible to the ears of the usual X Factor audience. Some inaudible sludgy noise.
delboy
rolf harris and rick parfitt should get the xmas number 1, wonderfully cheesy it is!
Monster Zero
Did folk not try this last year with Jeff Buckley vs. Alexandra Burke versions of 'Hallelujah'?
Alphas
Did folk not try this last year with Jeff Buckley vs. Alexandra Burke versions of 'Hallelujah'?Alexandra Burke was number one, Jeff Buckley was number two and Leonard Cohen was in the top 40 as well. Unless I'm mistaken, Simon Cowell owns the rights (or something along those lines) of Hallelujah so was probably coining it in.

Because of the sweary bits? They will just get edited out on any mainstream airing so making it pointless. You'd be as well going for something that is offsensive all the way through like 'Friggin' in the Riggin'' so making it unplayable.

Lemonade
No-one will outbuy millions of X Factor viewers. Fact.Truth. Unfortunately the "coveted" Christmas number one spot means absolutely fuck all these days since those Pop Factor people have basically fixed it for the past 5 years so they are guaranteed to have it every single year. I remember as a kid excitedly listening to the Xmas charts every year and watching Xmas Top Of The Pops to see what record was at Xmas number one, but there's absolutely no point now because you know what it's going to be every year. It's a completely worthless acheivement nowadays. Even when X-Factor finally fucks off off our screens and someone else gets Xmas number 1, it'll only be because X-Factor threw in the towel. In saying that, I'm still going to buy RATM, for the banter.
