James Broonbreed
If the Manic's quit after the holy bible, would they still have an effect on the world?
brettthain1
Yeah, I agree with the above! It's just a lot more easier to use, easier on the eyes thanks to the back light! I wouldn't need a kindle but if I chose one it would be the paper white.
Adam Easy Wishes
FAO Lucky Rathen I was in Dublin at the weekend. Seems a pretty nice city but what's with all the broken glass on the street? Like...everywhere.

Like...everywhere.I can't say it's something I've ever noticed. Where was this? Generally the streets are usually really clean. What did you get up to and where did you stay? Tell me everything. KarmaTsunami
Cool, thanks. Does it do anything else extra other than have the backlight? Paperwhite is touch screen, whereas the standard kindle uses buttons on the tablet itself to 'turn pages'. It also has a faster processor than the standard kindle. HeinzHines
The main advantage of the paperwhite over the standard kindle, is when you've run out of loo paper the paperwhite is backlight and illuminates your arsehole brilliantly to see if you've scraped it all off.

colb
Are Alt-J any good live? They're playing when I'm on holiday. Boyce Avenue are also playing, I already know they're awful though.

Paranoid Android
Why might my laptop be downloading things very slowly? I just moved into my new place a week or so ago. I'm supposed to have fast internet and when I do a speed test I get about 90+ Mbps download and 20+ upload. When I've torrented something this has held up, I've got some things very quickly. However when I download something from a site like zippyshare, or podcasts on itunes or just streamed something it's been slower than I've ever experienced before. Most annoying it's affecting my ability to watch football on acestream.
MattJimF
Best guess is traffic shaping. Depending on who your with will depend on the peak times, usually 4-11pm and all day Saturday and Sunday.
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Where in the city centre would I be able to get washers for a tap? The kitchen tap is sticking, and I suspect that the washer is worn and needs to be replaced.
Gypsum_Fantastic
Nickel and dime, maybe even the spar near you, they have a small section for DIY and packs of fuses etc.

Skubbs
How often do public swimming pools change the water?I'm pretty sure it doesn't need to be changed, given all the chemicals they use in it. The filters should get changed often and the chemicals checked on a regular basis (few times a day). Alford pool was rank though, and used to change theirs every 6 months or so - they just emptied it into the drain in their car park.

Lemonade
I figured they probably "treat" the water quite often to keep it clean but it's still going to get full of crap like hair gel and deodorant and perfume and stuff. And piss and hair and pubes. I'd have thought they would change the water completely every so often, surprised it's only once a year. colb
The filtration system should get rid of the pubes - I think that all of the water in a pool will cycle through the filters at least once a day.
ca_gere
Filters and chemicals do the same job as 'replacing' no? Think about the drinking water from your taps... that stuff never gets replaced. You're essentially drinking your own piss from 5 years ago just put through a strainer a few times.
