Next month the ceilidh band are doing a ceilidh night, me and my mate are going to be the only non - boring fucks in the bandSlater Menswear on Dee Street. They'll see you right. It's where I always go.
Paranoid Android
Also been very happy with Slater's when I've used them. Last time I got one was from McCalls on Bridge Street which was also fine. Used to go to Philip King on George Street because my gran knows the owner but to be honest there often seemed to be something wrong when I picked it up. Lemonade
Slater are great. They'll give you a few days either side of the event as well so you don't have to rush back with it.

James Broonbreed
Georgian Dress Hire also good; Google it. I think I got a kilt from there once. Didn't like the kilt, don't know the price but the service was very good. Pretty sure I had 4 or 5 cuba libre's and a fillet steak for breakfast that day. James Broonbreed
Always used McCalls when I was hiring kilts. Never had any problems. There's a total mad woman who does fittings there and they're expensive. Other than that, top notch.
Moon Moon
Great i just hope it's short enough time to get the day of work (either way I'm taking the day off)
KSJ81
I'm sure when I got the kilts for my wedding, Slaters required about a weeks notice as they didn't stock the hire kilts in the store. They came up from a central warehouse on a certain day of the week. That was in 2011 so may have changed now but I'm sure they will advise you if it's still the case. Also in the past I've found some places neglect to tell you about having to purchase the socks and or shirt until youve basivally finished which can bump up the cost of hire if you're not bold enough to kindly tell them where to shove it after taking up their time to get measured etc. I'm sure it was the one on school hill where that happened to me

Moon Moon
Well in primary when I had my prom I got my kilt from mcalls and yeh there were the hidden charges I paid for the socks but just went to top man for a black shirt as it was cheaper I found they were quite moody and lazy
MattJimF
Hud the bus... You had a fucking prom in primary!?!What the fuck is wrong with calling it a school disco. Also last day of primary should be just that, where you go round getting everybody to sign your shirt and tie and play board games and watch videos.

And my cereal is about 9 hours away from being eaten. Primary school prom? Get to fuck. It would be bad enough calling a secondary school event a prom.
Paranoid Android
And wearing a kilt to it too! What a fucking joke. I hope you at least had to good sense to keep it British with the boys standing at one side awkwardly avoiding the girls until the slow dance at the end. Obviously this rule is broken when Cotton Eye Joe is played.
