Don't get me wrong I've been loving most of Fenders recent output. Some of the Modern Player guitars are mental value for money.

I just don't see the point in this particular guitar. It will sound exactly the same as his other models and the neck is exactly the same. Body is just a different shape.

I feel that the effort put into making this guitar could have been spent on maybe something a bit different. Re-issue of the Cyclone, new intresting pawn shop ideas etc.

I'm a total Fender fanboy, but that Jim Root thing sucks. It's everything that's wrong about signature guitars.

The Fender Guitar Company.

I love Fender guitars but it blows my mind that they churn out shit like this.

Spoilered for size.

A Jim Root Jazzmaster, featuring the same pickups, neck profile, paint job and black hardware that his signature Strat and tele have. What is the point?

It really is a ugly looking fucker. It just looks cheap and nasty and pish. It's fuckin' root, min.

That awkward feeling you get trying to find a quiet place to speak to a recruiter on the phone in your current place of employment.

Just spent 10 minutes conspicuously whispering into my phone in a tiny corridor between two larger corridors.  Would've looked much less suspicious if I'd just stayed at my desk and shouted the conversation.

They generally ask if it's a good time to talk, I mostly say no if it's not and ask if I can call when I know people will be out of the office or I can take ten minutes and sit in my car.

Aye they did that when they called me this morning and I suggested they phone back at lunch.  But was harder to find somewhere quiet than I thought at lunchtime.

It's stupid.  Not as though there's anything wrong with having a look at what's out there or applying for new jobs.

Also, it's really frustrating when they say they'll call you back at a specific time and then don't do it. Especially if you're stepping out of the office for a minute.

Or cold call your desk phone. Had that happen a couple of times (when I've not been looking so could just politely say I wasn't interested).

My boss is fairly realistic, he knows we get approached by agencies.  Still can't shake the feeling that it's going behind someone's back just to have a look.
