Really, is this one of those light things, or one of those things, where peoples definitions of the things that they perceive never match, because the inside of the minds eye is unmeasurable. Or is it just nitrocellulose? I have no doubt that the paint said surf green, but it just looks so blue compared to the Fenders that I've seen marked Surf Green, of which this would be exemplary.

This looks closer, but is Seafoam Green, a conflation I often make with Surf

Ach my inner pedant drives me on, I think it looks nicer than the things I think of as Surf Green, like the 1st strat above, but nomenclature and semantics are always worth pinning down, or wallowing in mutual incomprehension.

Not fancy a blackplate like the one above? it's affa nice too.

Really difficult with these photos, it's a fairly accurate representation , except the photo is maybe a bit more bluey/turquoisey. Also the scratch plate is a cool looking mint green which doesn't really show up, maybe a bit in the second one.

Here's the seller's pic, pretty accurate I would say, but it can vary so much just depending on light, inside or outside etc.

As for black on any of these cool custom colours, no way, gadz min. ;)

Spear T200 (silver). Great guitar but needs better pick-ups.

Squier Tele, with hardly any original parts left on it.

Washburn WI-64. Solid as fuck guitar. It's a workhorse.

It looks much more green on that page, $49 looks like a well good bargain too, result. If I was a DIY type I'd be well tempted to get in about custom combinations. Suppose I wouldn't put a blackplate on my classic 50s strat, but I have been considering the anodized gold. I'm not going for it because I got a sticker I really like in Amsterdam...

It's allowed, because I've been listening to 'Electronic Meditation' a lot. And that shit was fine.

Was planning on going for those, but the wonderful MikeyEB from on here sold me the bridge he took off his 50s Classic Vibe Squier at a price I couldn't say no to... and threw in the switch tip gratis! Thanks again man!

You are very welcome, nice looking Tele! I really like surf green. I've got a Thinline Tele that I was going to get made in that colour but I plumped for Sonic Blue in the end.

I just bought one of these

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSi2lCjWYScsmEsWQMmTLnStBFDtAo8KdASeeqhvqmWrWI1OGZDqg&t=1

Its a late 70's Peavey T-40. It looks like a cross between a Fender Precision and a Gibson Ripper, which are my two favourite basses so thats probably why I like it. It needs a good set up and some new strings, but apart from that I'm pretty pleased with it.

These guys:

MJT Custom Aged Guitar Finishes Photo Gallery

I'm buying the pickups and doing the electrics myself, but they are supplying everything else, including ageing the body and applying a nitrocellulose finish.

For folk interested, it's going to look like this:

The finish will be like this.

EXCITED!

I just bought one of these Night Train heads and a 1970's 2x12 to run it through, excited as it's the first "serious" amp I've owned. Sounds really nice :)

Is that the cab that was for sale on this forum? I aint no guitarist but I was drooling at the sight.

Got a fairly standard looking SG copy

222790_10150169382186695_604626694_7177530_3364107_n.jpg

Closer inspection however reveals the reason I bought it

229645_10150169382266695_604626694_7177531_6952540_n.jpg

Bareknuckle warpig in the bridge and a nailbomb in the neck. Never played an SG style instrument or even a 24.75" neck so I'll have a play around and see if I like it, but will probably just swap the pickups into my Ibanez.
