Shaki
Has anyone seen Shot at Glory starring Alistair McCoist and Willie Young? Would it come recommended?I could reel off the script start to finish. If you like Scottish Football you have to watch it. It is so terrible in so many ways that it is brilliant. Cameos from: Owen Coyle, Andy Smith, Peter Heatherston, Ian MacCall, John McVeigh (speaking part as the assistant manager), Didier Agathe, Eddie May, Steve Tosh, erm Michael Keaton ......You have to watch it just for the pure nonsense they talk about football and Duvall's abysmal Scottish accent, eh, aye, I cum fae a wee meeinin veelage in Ayrsheeer...When you see McCoist coming over the brow of a hill in his sports car in the opening scene you should wet yourself laughing. Le Stu
I caught Serenity last night on ITV4. It was pretty awesome. I disliked how episodical Firefly was and I really wanted to know about the Tams and the Reavers and basically all the stuff that was awesome and less of the bits that were like Bonanza in space. Story arc FTW!One more thing, if everyone speaks Chinese as a 2nd language then where are all the Chinese people?
Lemonade
Zombieland - a of comedy zombie horror - a bit like Shaun Of The Dead but American. Really, really enjoyed this, definitely worth a watch if you're a fan of the zombie genre. It's got so much going for it as well - an opening slo-mo sequence of zombie carnage with Metallica playing over it? Check. Woody Harrelson beating a zombie to death with a banjo? Check. The best Bill Murray cameo in the history of film? Check - and what's more he's stoned and re-enacting the hotel scene from Ghostbusters using a vacuum cleaner as a proton pack.Brilliant.****

It's criminal that it was cancelled. So disappointing that we'll probably never know what Whedon had planned for Sheperd Book's mysterious past...There are Chinese people in the series. It wouldn't be mysterious if you found out now would it?And Fox are criminal. I've no idea why they picked it up in the first place... Scorge
Finally got round to watching Control last night. Not a bad film, story was told very well but found the majority of the characterisation quite insipid.Thumbs not nor

diarmaid
Up (in 3d). It was fantastic!! Shed a tear after 20mins. The beginning was so moving and the ending was lovely too. Amazing colours on the screen. Everyone should go see it!Saw this yesterday. Absolutely brilliant. Getting to the stage now where you go into a PIXAR movie and can be guaranteed a great movie. And your right about the tears. Possibly the saddest and most heartfelt PIXAR to date. Though probably because it actually had to do with real people and not fish, robots, superheros or toys. Though, going to see it during the day, during the holidays, was definitely a bad move. Kids are becoming increasingly annoying. Noisy little bastards. Though serves me right I suppose.Saw Coraline as well. Got the 3D/2D dvd. Despite 3D being pretty pish in your own house the movie was pretty good. Nice and dark. Not as good as a lot of people had reviewed it, but still definitely worth a watch.
Norseman
3000 Miles to Graceland ~ Quite an old movie that I've always meant to see and that I picked up for 2 quid in Asda. Stars Kevin Costner (no wait, come back!) and Kurt Russell along with Courtney Cox looking rather good and playing a role miles from Monica Friends. Actually quite a good film and the best I've seen Kevin Costner in for an age. Costner plays a nutjob ex-jailbird who claims to be an illegitimate son of Elvis, Kurt Russell plays his ex-jail mate and they meet up for a casino heist in Las Vegas during an Elvis convention, hence the heist being pulled off by Kevin and Kurt along with David Arquette and Christian Slater in full Elvis garb. Remainder of the film is about the predictably messy aftermath, double-crosses ahoy, etc. I suppose in many ways it's quite formulaic but I thought it was well done and the actors involved do a good job. It's also pretty violent. Certainly worth 2 pounds. 8/10.A good film and I would agree with the rating and Courtney looks very fetching in her thong in the film! :-)
Norseman
Sweet zombie Jesus, I have to see this film!A cracking film, very amusing indeed in a totally bonkers type of way. One of the few recent films I would go back and see again.

Norseman
Finally got round to seeing Rob Zombies Halloween last night, better than I thought it was going to be but strays very much into formula American slasher film in a lot of points. Still think it is one of these remakes too far but in general I enjoyed it, especially the longer build up in the back story.
FatHand
Saw Funny People last night. It was pretty reasonable and don't feel cheated of my time by watching it (unlike Batman and Robin which for some reason I didn't switch the channel or even get out of my seat to do something useful.. so this is entirely my own fault. I feel a small wrech coming when my mind falls on the memory). So it was kind of a standard movie with little nuggets of gold in it ... it might have been better. Could have been cool done in a more pseudo documentary style like curb your enthusiasm. Cast were decent, standard list that might appear alongside Josh Rogan. Adam Sandler was good at playing the slightly likeable asshole. Also saw Watchmen. I'm not sure what to make of that, it wasn't bad and again probably could have been better. I am not familiar with the comic books, I take it that's what it was based on, so it might have been more coherent to someone familiar with the characters already. I think it could have been even darker but good to see a little more Grim Fairy Tale in a comic book movie.
