Lemonade
Speaking of the Coen brothers. I watched 'Blood Simple' last week. Very blunt but still very good. It's hard to believe it was their first film.I re-watched Casino Royal (Daniel craig version) the other night just to get me psyched to see the new Bond. Still briliant. Re: The Descent.I thought it was terryfying (in a good way). I've always been a fan of that type of horror where they play upon what *could* be - though the scenario is usually unlikely. See 28 days later as another perfect example. Is it not in the descent that the monsters have evolved from early humanity?Yeah basically while we've been evolving above ground they've been evolving underground, so they're like us but walk on all fours and are blind cos of the dark and have amazing hearing. And stuff.

Lemonade
I watched a Nightmare On Elm Street 2 last night, which was nowhere near as good as the first one, and not even remotely scary. It was watchable but poor. It was also probably the most homoerotic film I've ever seen. Case in point - a teenager is 'possesed' by Freddy, and wakes up in the middle of the night and goes out walking in his pyjamas. He walks into an S&M club where he finds his gym teacher wearing leather trousers and a leather waistcoat with no shirt. His gym teacher punishes him for being in the bar by taking him to the school and making him run laps, and then tells him to go for a shower. While the boy is in the shower (naked), the gym teacher gets dragged into the showers (by invisible force), gets tied to the pipes with his arms up, all his clothes suddenly fall off. He then gets tortured by way of a wet towel whipping his bare ass.Make of that what you will.

Lemonade
I thought descent was more unnerving for the cave scenes....feck that no way I would decent down a cave like that never mind crawling through toight cracks etc....classic scene is def the ice/rock pick one between the two girls Re: The Descent.I thought it was terryfying (in a good way). Is it not in the descent that the monsters have evolved from early humanity?Oh bollocks. That's that ruined then. The Descent 2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaLike the idea of a sequel isn't lame enough, they've actually changed the ending of the last film to fit around the sequel. Rubbish.
Johnny Mac
Watched saw 5 last night.I thought it was quite good. I like that we are seeing more little parts from previous films and how they are all filling in the blanks.I thought the 'twists' were pretty lame though.Doctor Gordon is BOUND to return......... the sooner the better. Every film has references to him.
SeaOfEnergy
Yeah i thought Saw 5 was enjoyable, but then not many other films can compare when it comes to people traps. and anything that involves hands gettin fucked up is freaky to me, being a guitarist...Also it does clear up some of the inconsistencies in the stories of the previous 4. I will say that it was probably a bit much to release 4 films before the explanation, damn hard to remember what happened in the 4 others and the 5th one jumps back in time alot and refers to the others. Guest treader.
Saw 5 was really predictable. I sussed the whole film before it was even half way through. Not saying I'm some super film buff, but it was just really obvious what was happening with the games.I want to post a spoiler but I dunno how to use that thing. But one scene literally defies life, and it's confused me why they would make that scene without realising "wait a minute"

Captain America
I had a Scream-a-thon last night but it was just a great big laugh because the Scream killers are all fucking useless. I've never seen a serial killer thwarted so many times by a door! When he got annihilated by the fridge in the first one it was amazing.Good comedy. Monster Zero
The first 'Saw' film was excellent, the second not very good and teh third was painful to watch.Watched 'Iron Man' the other night, excellent, RD Jr is very good in it. Had a repeat viewing of 'The Departed' last night, gets better every time.
Le Stu
I caught Saw on telly a couple of weeks back. Very disturbing and ingenious.Tonight, I watched Children of Men which was fantastic. I also hired vol 1 of Yukikaze, this weekend, which is a TV anime, but the quality is up there with cinema. Think Top Gun meets Ghost In The Shell. Stunning animation, I just wish it was widescreen. Scootray
I watched The Hills Have Eyes on TV tonight. Not as shit as I was expecting it to be.
Monster Zero
'Wanted', which was ridiculous but also kind of fun, much as for 'Shoot 'Em Up'.Also watched 'Bottle Rocket' after picking it up on Amazon cheap, thanks to all who recommended it, great film. So 'Royal Tenenbaums' is definitely the only Wes Anderson film I dislike!

Pierre Von Mondragon
'Pineapple Express', seen it twice since Friday now, fuckin ace, 2nd best stoner film ever, after 'Dazed and Confused', the car chase just about ended me with hilarity. Alkaline
Rambo. It was pretty good like, in an action-romp sort of way. Matthew Marsden was actually pretty good but Julie Benz didn't get enough screen time in my opinion
mcsheepie
Watched Wall-E at the weekend and it's now my favourite animated film, possibly the sweetest film i've ever seen. Also watched Saw 4, was alright, Tropic Thunder, ok, funny but i could have done without Tom Cruise and Wedding Daze, also alright.
