Last film you watched?

I wanted to watch Donnie Darko last night, but some thieving bastard has stolen my copy...

I ended up watching the Shining, which scared the bejesus out of as per usual. A top quality film... Although, I've never felt any sympathy for Shelly Duvall due to her constant whining. 5 months of that would have me chasing her round a hotel with an axe.

 "You must spread some reputation around before giving it to Jan Deal again"

Edit - apparently I gave you rep at 4.20 this morning. Hmmm..... ?(

I watched "Heat" last night, which was a good, fast-paced cops n robbers thriller with plenty of good plot twists thrown in. Pacino acted his face off. I wasn't sure about De Niro's performace to begin with, it felt like he was sleep-walking through it, but then I realised that the part required it, as his character was very introverted and strait-laced. I like my De Niro performances to be heavyweight and borderline psycotic though a l Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Casino, Raging Bull..... he didn't have much to do in Heat.

Was good seeing AP and RdN share a screen but I'd like to see a Goodfellas-type De Niro share a movie with Pacino before they are both too old.... they play cops in that new mvie, I'll have to go and see that. What's it called again?

Anyway Heat was good. I'd give it 4/5.

Watched "In Bruges" the other night and was very impressed.

Didn't know too much about it beforehand and wrongly assumed it was another Brit flick Guy "overrated-faaaakin-mockney-innit" Ritchie-type drugs'n'violence glamourisation freak show.

It was anything but.

The film stars Brendan Gleeson - who I'd watch reading the phonebook, Rafe Fiennes and Colin Farrell - whom, up to this point, I'd despised with his wee cocky, pikey Irish face.

This film has it's brutally violent moments but also has a few laugh ot loud moments involving Farrell - who's gone right up in my estimation.

All-round nice-guy Fiennes turns in a great foul-mouthed performance as a mob boss - very similar to the equally nice Ben Kingsley's terrying Don Logan in Sexy Beast.

As a bonus, the cinematography is beautiful and it's made me want to visit Bruges.

Won't give the plot away, but catch this one if you get the chance.

I didn't fancy this film on the back of the shit name and the dull looking posters. If it's as good as you say I'll maybe check it out.

I disliked this film, almost walked out of the cinema (unlike me) not a fan of colin farrel to start with. I thought the plot and the script was boring and in most places (not saying it was all like that) the jokes obvious and I felt I just was waiting for something decent to happen...which it didn't really apart from something I am not going to spoil it for people who watch it....funniest bit in the movie was probably the midget

Each to their own I guess - I wasn't grabbed by the first 10 minutes, but it got a lot better when they started to flesh out Farrell's character.

The midget scenes are brilliant.

I just finished watching Doomsday. It was very incoherent plot-wise. I suppose as far as action romps go it was ok. It did seem to flick between trying to be Mad Max, Gladiator, Gone In 60 Seconds, River City and 28 Days Later with gay abandon though. Pushed for a score: 2/5

Rhona Mitra is lovely though.
