Top Tips

Inspired by slutbags' tip in another thread, thought it might be a good idea to start a top tips thread.

Using sparkling water is ace for getting a few more days out of flowers

the only one I can think of right now is for anyone who uses a video camera and a fluid head tripod. To get a really smooth pan, instead of moving the handle with your hand directly, put a rubber band round it and pull with your finger. The rubber band acts as a shock absorber eliminating any jerky hand movements.

Viz ones are most definitely welcome too.

To get sauce/ketchup out of a glass bottle easily, don't shake it or tap the bottom. Hold it at a 45 degree angle to where you want to dispence it and lightly tap the bottle against your other arm. Works a treat.

Another simple one and also tomato related is if you're cooking with tinned tomatoes, add a wee pinch of sugar to even out the acidy taste.

When restringing a guitar with a Floyd Rose (recessed) tremolo, put a 9V battery into a sock and place that into the recess, this should keep the bridge flush with the top (for Original Floyd Roses at least, the cavity is the perfect depth). This makes restringing and adjustments much easier as the bridge won't continually move through tension addition.

If you're at the Cineworld Union Square (beach might be the same - never tried) and there's a huge queue for tickets go to the bar instead.

The staff can sell you tickets from the till there, works for Unlimited cards too and they have a stash of 3d glasses if you need some. Also, beer.
