Soda Jerk
You should get a Wonga loan, but then not pay it back. I heard they just let you off with it, and you never hear from them again. So definitely do that.

Also, why would it be a requirement to walk 4 miles in 5-10 minutes (an impossibility)? Surely you arrive in Dunecht as early as you need to walk the last bit (I'd say allow a minimum of an hour - 4mph is a brisk walking pace), no? If being dropped at the door is so important to you then get a taxi or a lift from someone.

Skubbs
No, it's the countryside - they're not organised enough to have shuttle buses running to the castles etc... especially around Dunecht. So, you either walk, call a taxi (countryside ones are extortionate) or book a coach with some friends and go that way. Or maybe check if the First Bus store do coach trips there? I think they're just pointing out that, if the website offers that much information on how to get NEAR to the castle, then there isn't transport directly to it.
Adam Easy Wishes
I posted directly from the website because if there were public transport alternatives that took you straight there, they would surely be listed. Get a bike or learn to drive. Bad form, LG, bad form.
Skacel
I have a day and a half in NYC, what touristy things should I do?
Teabags
Do a boat tour around Manhattan. Then go see a Mets game.
Skacel
The Yankees are playing one night I am there so think I will check that out. Boat tour could be a shout. Also, I fancy trying Katz Deli (featured in Man Vs Food).

Skacel
When are you going?I'll be there on the 13th & 14th of August.
ca_gere
It'll probably still be hot as shit around then so I would try do as little trekking as possible. Yankees games are way less fun than they sound. The atmosphere is crap - it's all tourists in the affordable ticket sections and noone actually watches the game. Bronx is a total trek if you're there for a day too. Katz is a good idea - its an experience and actually a tasty sandwich. There are some great bars round that area too (double down saloon is right across the road - it plays porn on the TVs all day and sells a drink called 'ass juice')You'd be near the Brooklyn Bridge around there and it's not too much of a walk to go over it, check out the views from Dumbo and go back. A boat trip is nice but it'll eat up loads of time and you can get similar views elsewhere.Maybe even catch a gig at Mercury Lounge, arlene's grocery or one of the other venues in the Lower East side.Go to a midnight show at a comedy club in the west village at night (Comedy cellar on mcdougal st is the best), get some pizza on the way (joe's on Carmine)Go up 30 rock or Empire state the next day if you've never been.High Line + Chelsea Market worth a lookie if you've got time
Skacel
Cheers min. I'm definitely going to get myself some ass juice. I'm going to be in the states for a couple of months so may return in September / October and give it a proper go.
Jaaakkkeee
If I'm in a privately let flat, who do I phone in case of emergency? Water's pissing down to the neighbour, so I've turned my water off. Meaning no drinking, washing, or flushing water. Can't get a hold of leasing agent until tomorrow. Scootray
They should have given you an emergency number I would have thought. Who you with?
Soda Jerk
A surprising number of lettings agents don't have an out-of-hours number, which is ridiculous really. If you haven't been given one, I would assume they don't have one.
Scootray
Im trying to think back when I was with APL if they had one. I think we were lucky in that our leak which made the neighbours kitchen roof fall in was on a weekday within office hours.
Jaaakkkeee
They didn't give me one. I'll just phone tomorrow. I turned my water back on as I think it was pissing down during showers. Maybe, hopefully.
Soda Jerk
Is your bath seal in good nick? We used to get leaks all the time from above in my old flat because their bath seal was shite. I once knocked on their door and said that we've got water pouring into our bathroom. He let me in to get the number for his landlord, but kept saying "It can't be coming from us" over and over. I said to him "But your shower is running". We went through and had a look, and his shower was spraying at an angle, directly onto the aqua panel, then running down into a gaping hole in the seal. He says "I guess it could be going down there?"... What a fanny.

So the tiniest wee gap is all it might need. I was in the neighbours flat and the leak is coming from the corner my shower is in.

To be honest 5-10 minutes should be more than adequate.
