Scorge
I'm still waiting for a reply for my application for the Dons job. Should be in with a shout given my outstanding unbeaten record in the Champions League as Montrose gaffer in FM08, and unlucky semi-final defeat to 'Fingers' Mellis at the Gourdon Primary School Subutteo Championship of 1994. Get on me while the odds are long.
Nev
This might have been mentioned earlier, but what the fudge is up with this?Players wearing scarves on the pitch? Fucking wendy.I'm telling you, it all started with Bianchi...I blame Rolando Bianchi...If you're going to wear a scarf on the pitch, though, get a proper one. Not this snood shit. A proper, old-school, Mancini-style vertical bars scarf.

Woodsinho
In actual football:FA Cup 2nd round replay tonight between Leyton Orient and Droylsden was a bit special. Droylsden went 2-0 up and were going well until Orient hit back with 2 goals in the last 15 minutes to take the match to extra time. The final score was 8-2. Flippin' 'eck.Holy crap, I'd have hated to report on that! Deadline is as close to the final whistle (normal time) as possible for daily papers. Report would be mostly written (and probably sent for early editions) when Orient started their comeback, along the lines of 'Non-league Droylsden caused a cup shock with a stunning FA Cup Second Round replay victory at Leyton Orient..."They'd get a bit twitchy at 2-1, maybe re-write the first paragraph. At 2-2, most of the report would be scrapped and rewritten in such a way that it could easily be adapted to suit either team winning in extra-time.By the end, I'd imagine most journo's would have completely scrapped everything they'd written, and just listed the scorers, with a note to their editor saying "YOU deal with it!" Christy
Looks like Craig Broon has turned us doon.Pardew is a lock for the Newcastle job, apparently. He and Mike Alexander are pals.
keeno
The ref in the spurs match last night was unreal. For all the talk of incompetent referees here he made them look like Pierluigi Collina. So many baffling decisions. Also apparently Benitez is in hot water at Milan now. Yet 2 months ago he had them playing better football than Mourinho did..... Bremen beat them 3-0 but it should have been 6 or 7. Hit the woodwork twice and missed a couple of sitters. Claudio Pizzarro showing all the goalscorers instinct of his Chelsea days by missing an open goal from about 5 yards out.
Guest idol_wild
Looks like Craig Broon has turned us doon.Pardew is a lock for the Newcastle job, apparently. He and Mike Alexander are pals.Craig Brown has far too much sense to take on the near insurmountable task at Aberdeen. He's had a really solid career and has proved himself at several different levels - why the fuck would he blot that record with a stint at Aberdeen? It would probably be his last job. No point in ruining a fine managerial career.

kirkt
I'm sure Ryan ate other things. I don't know if he is actually a vegetarian, but he used to endorse Quorn. He used to be in telly adverts in the mid 90's too. I haven't seen him endorse it for a while though. He might have actually gotten round to tasting some and realised it's horrid.I actually started eating Quorn burgers as a kid cos Ryan Giggs endorsed them and if you collected 4 packs you got a Giggs t-shirt. Worked on me as I'm now a vegetarian
Guest idol_wild
Aye, worked wonders at Preston.... BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | Preston | Brown leaves Preston postBrown's record at Preston was still relatively solid. Though not considered promotion candidates, they were never in actual fear of relegation. Sure, the managers either side of him performed slightly better, but some of the key performers under his predecessor (Moyes) were not available to Craig (star striker Jon Macken was sold shortly before Brown's arrival).Brown's "failure" at PNE was purely an issue of context, I reckon. He just so happened to have two outstanding managers either side of his reign.PNE would kill for Brown to come in and do a similar job now. Paranoid Android
Replacing Hughton with Pardew. Even Newcastle have never made a managerial decision this mad before.
Captain America
It's such a strange decision but really highlights everything that's wrong with the club. Where they think they should be etc.But Pardew. Whats the point, the players like Houghton and played for him I doubt they'll take to Pardew the same way. He's not exactly the big name to attract any talent.Personally I thought Martin Jol was about the right level for them if they could have got him plus he's got a good network and could have brought in some young talent. He's mates with the bosses that's the point. Means that he won't complain about a lack of funds or that he won't ignore Ashley's sage-like tactical advice like Hughton did.Long live the cockney mafia! Claudio Pizzarro showing all the goalscorers instinct of his Chelsea days by missing an open goal from about 5 yards out.Inter were unlucky infront of goal, but they they just aren't playing with the same guile and organisation they did under Mourinho. Too many of the midfield are trying to be everywhere at once, where as before it seemed to simply be Sneijder and Eto'o who had a license to roam, and everything else was very rigid. Apart from Maicon I guess, but Maicon only answers to Maicon, no matter who is manager. Rafa won't see the end of the season, and hopefully the other, nicer, better, more humane Milan will win the title. It'd be interesting to see Ibra win the title for both Milans. He deserves it. His commitment to never heading the ball is second to no one.

Guest
This Hughton affair is just batshit mental. From an outsider, it really does look as if Ashley is trying to fuck over the club. Can't believe I'm saying this about a chairman of a big football team but it looks like he's actually trying to orchestrate failure. Bizarre. Also, Phil Brown for Aberdeen. Shaki
Hmmmm, remove the manager who gained promotion, has his average team sitting mid table in the Premier League, is liked by fans and players alike........and replace him with a guy recently sacked by Southampton (although this may have been a bit unfair) It's not confirmed yet though no? Maybe this poll will change Ashley's mind: PARDEW FARES BADLY IN FANS' POLL | Football Transfer News, Football News, Fixtures, Results, Match Reports, Stats

(about baseball)Rachel Phelps, a former Las Vegas showgirl, has inherited the Cleveland Indians baseball team from her deceased husband. She wants to move the team to the warmer climate of Miami. In order to do this, she must reduce attendance at Municipal Stadium below a total of 800,000 ticket sales which will trigger an escape clause in the team's lease with the city of Cleveland. After she moves the team, she would also be able to release all the current players and replace them with new ones.
