ca_gere
I thought it was interesting that a lot of the sphericising (i'm guessing that's a word- it sounds like it should be) is done by hand. After all the science, it's still some lackey buffering the bitch till it's really round.

waltz
The word 'female' is now unacceptable to use when referring to a person of the non-male gender. If you read Kirsten's post about context, that might help.
Monster Zero
Thing is I used it as a descriptive term that seemed pretty safe, I have had women object to being described as a 'girl' as they felt it made them seem immature, I have had women object to being called a 'woman' as it made them seem too old...so I avoided both. The context described by Kirsten is weird though, "that female" suggests an element of dislike to me.

Think it was Jake or YA that said it. Maybe it's my own selective experiences but I've only heard the term "females" negatively, like "these females" or "look at they females" or something. It sounds jarring.
Monster Zero
Yeah well I think that thread has degenerated to kind of provide a possible reason why girls/women/goddesses may be put off.....

Adam Easy Wishes
I don't particularly think it has any negative connotations, I just don't like the use of the word 'female' in the same context as Walt is describing above. Especially 'females' to describe a group of women. He's right, it sounds jarring and clinical and a bit weird to me. I would say 'women' or 'woman', normally.
ca_gere
'Female' is fine in any context as long as it's appended by 'of the species'.
MattJimF
'Female' is fine in any context as long as it's appended by 'of the species'. 'Female of the species' toilet, 'Female of the species' changing room, 'Female of the species' department.
