HateEvent
I'm not huge on nitrocellulose either.I've tried unfinished with just a tung oil coat (neck) and it was quite cool but a bit weird given my other guitars being so different. My current 3 all have different neck finishes - natural with a polyurethane clearcoat, satin painted with a polyurethane clearcoat and gloss painted with a polyurethane clearcoat.I prefer the natural and satin over the gloss. One of the things i personally find with the neck of my SG is that it's a lost smoother playability-wise that the lacquered necks i've had on other guitars. I still have a natural tele self custom job in the works as well.

Soda Jerk
I prefer a natural finish too. Guitars that have a bit of shine to them, especially if they are a solid colour (black specifically), show grubby finger prints so easily. I've got a Squier Tele that looks mucky all the time. Teabags
I also prefer natural finish. But I can't afford guitars worth a fuck. But I'd piss myself for one of these:

Jeid
I prefer Nitro to the Poly finishes on Fenders!I just got myself an ISP Decimator and some new cables for patching things together for recording. I need to tidy up my rack. Got a lot of XLR's arriving this week.
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Not exactly new, but I got my hands on an early Squier Strat (one of the Japanese made ones). So I decided that I'd combine it with my Japanese '57 reissue Strat:The body of the Squier and the neck and pickups fro the '57 reissue. Soda Jerk
Buff! What pickups are they? Covered pole single coils look slick.

I've got a blue in the neck, silver in the middle and red in the bridge.

Soda Jerk
and you cant go and buy one, why?Money, perhaps? It might be because amplifiers are expensive, and require saving up for. Just a shot in the dark like.

Old Gold
I bought flippin' batteries at long last. Embarrassingly, I'm yet to flex my T-Rex Mudhoney's muscles through my Evil Twin. Tomorrow promises to be fuzzy.

Alan Cynic
I picked up a Sunn 'Mustang' (actually a strat) in a charity shop. It seems to work OK, but has been strung for a leftie. I've open-tuned it to do a couple of songs, and will re-string it tomorrow.
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
What are you doing with the body? I love your pink body.I fitted the parts left over from the Japanese Squier:I hunted around for ages for the original pickup covers for my Strat, then realised that 2 of them were on my Mustang, d'oh! But I think that the black pickup covers look pretty cool on it, though I could see how they would not be for everyone's taste.
Old Gold
I reckon that the pink one is an utter beauty.
