FOX
Filling Station is gazillions better than it used to be. I went there when I first moved here 4 or 5 years ago. Vile stuff. I've been 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years. The missus' folks always seem to want to go there for birthdays and stuff. It's rather good, if you like that whole F&B/TGI's American/Italian stuff. It's definitely better than TGI's, which is horrid. Filling Station also do really great cocktails, and sell Brooklyn Lager. Win. Their burgers are great. So is the Calzone, which was infact one of the best Calzone's I've ever had.I quite liked TGIs the last time I was there (a year and a half ago now though). I think its position is a bit shit though but I only went to TGIs 'cos we were going to the cinema after and didn't fancy the Hut.
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
K2 is now my go to curry place on your recommendation.K2 is absolutely amazing. I doubt I'd be satisfied getting a curry from another takeaway in Aberdeen. Reasonably priced too.

Lemonade
Yorokobi. It's better than sex. It's better than sex with 6 nubile Japanese hookers while snorting coke and watching Paul Rudd films.
kybosh
Live music and restaurants should never mix.the music dosen't start until 9:30 when most people have finished eating , it's quite laid back acoustic stuff too so does not spoil the eating experience
Guest davetherave
Are there any decent Sashimi places in Aberdeen? I went to one in California that chopped, wokked and juggled knifes/food at your table, the heat from the table grill nearly singed my chest hair. It was a fucking brilliant eating experience If only we had this kind of thing here, but I think the elf n safety police would spoil the plan! keeno
Yorokobi. It's better than sex. It's better than sex with 6 nubile Japanese hookers while snorting coke and watching Paul Rudd films. It is amazing. Went for the first time on my anniversary and been back a few times since. Great place, but you really have to remember to make a reservation as it was pretty busy whenever I have been before. The one time we didn't make a reservation we turned up at 6 and were told we could only stay until 7 because everything was reserved. Still if you do go before 7 the prices of the early bird menu is fantastic value.

Woodsinho
D'ya mean teppanyaki? There's not one in Aberdeen but there are plenty in other British cities (I know Newcastle has at least 2) so it's nothing to do with the mythical 'elven safety police'.

keeno
Doh, I meant Teppanyaki, I should know the difference, I've eaten Sashimi (possible senior moment) A bit of googling has revealed Yen Oriental in Glasgow as the nearest teppanyaki place.http://www.yenrotunda.com/Glasgow is well worth a visit if you like Japanese food. Ichiban is there too and it's also fantastic. The lunch deal they have on during the week is incredible. Not been there in a while but from what I remember it is one of the soup based dishes and sushi for around the £6-£7 mark.http://www.ichiban.co.uk/

Has a reasonable mix of stuff in it. The mochi are also ace and if you are a dessert person you should try them!
Chris
i'm going there tomorrow night. had a look at the menu online and am now very confused. no idea what i'll order tomorrow!Be brave and get the cool sounding special sushi dishes. I was indecisive and got a sushi selection which was just the standard, boring stuff you get everywhere. Done very well but the more specialist stuff coming out of the kitchen looked much better. kirsten
I've got to book a table somewhere for a meal my birthday tomorrow night but have no idea where to go. I think probably a curry somewhere I've not tried before will keep everyone happy. Can anybody recommend one? We'd normally end up at Nazma, Lahore Karahi or the ones on Rose Street.
