Alkaline
Neils Sister or Wills Mum??Thats a tough decision! Both are very fit! For some reasons I find myself leaning towards wills mum tho!I can't decide so it'll have to be both at the same time.

jon
I'd happily take either the sister or the mum to be honest...I overheard some kids at school this morning talking about clunge. Take that Skins.
The59Sound
Thought the Inbetweeners Series Finale was outstanding. Some great lines. Getting a bit sick of Will though, he's becoming a bit of a caricature I think.

Paulscoconutass
Both season 'Finales' have been disappointing IMHO. It feels like, after 5 brilliant episodes, they try to wrap it up all nicey-nice and add a bit of friendship morals. Still, it shouldn't take away from the fact that it's one of the best comedies on telly.
Lemonade
Couple years old this thread, but check this shit. The Inbetweeners US. Yup, that's a thing now.
Woodsinho
It'll probably be as successful as Skins US. If I hear that it turns out well then I'll watch it, if not it's no great loss. Good luck to 'em.
Lemonade
It'll be a completely different show I'd wager, like the US Office. The humour in it is very working class British, not sure how it'll translate without big changes. It'll probably end up being a TV version of Superbad. Was Skins US a hit? Woodsinho
It was not. A loud, moralistic and pushy section of America didn't take kindly to the subject matter and threatened to sue for the depictions of teenagers doing sex (claiming it was child pornography). Loads of advertisers pulled out as a result so MTV pulled the plug on it after the first series.
Soda Jerk
Shameless US gets very poor ratings too. I dunno why they keep remaking British comedies. Wasn't there word of a US Spaced at one point?
Stroopy121
Shameless US gets very poor ratings too. I dunno why they keep remaking British comedies. Wasn't there word of a US Spaced at one point?I suppose they're just hoping that among the slew of duds there'll be another US Office which is absolute gold.Thinking about it - I reckon US Inbetweeners might be good. Like a TV show version of Superbad or American Pie like someone else mentioned. The US conversions of British shows only really seem to be dying on their arse completely when they are meant to be "edgy" and "serious". Skins and Shameless are both pretty gritty and working class and I think that's the element of it that isn't going over in the US. If they get to just do brainless cringe comedy there's no reason for the Inbetweeners not to be as good as the original (depending on the writers, obviously).xxEDIT: Also - I wonder if they'll try to invent a new catchphrase word for pussy, or will they try to bring Clunge across the Atlantic? Old Gold
I like the idea of making the tall idiot one a stonery kind of fellow. If they go full on Spicoli with him, it has potential. Rest of the characters look a bit too straight-translation though. I doubt the cheeky chappy archetype will work whatsoever.

Gypsum_Fantastic
Oh dear. Couple of funny lines in there but no.
MattJimF
I've watched the first couple of episodes, sort of a mash-up of the first few episodes of the UK version, pretty standard, some funny bits, but still laugh harder at the UK repeats then I have at the US version. The main thing that's really bugging me is the Jay character, he's just not as funny, plus the fact the guy playing him is the kind of guy that Jay would take the piss out off doesn't help. Also there were a few bleeps on puchlines which means the joke it ruined.
MattJimF
So should we really be surprised - http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/20545757That's both Skins and Inbetweeners that has failed to transfer to the US, probably due to the fact that American teen culture is just too different to British teen culture.
