Murrr
Yodel are complete microphalluses like. They continually leave parcels in really stupid, illogical places at my folks' house. Once they left a package in a wheely-bin full of damp, foosty leaves. They've also left massive boxes on the front doorstep and in other safe havens like "on the garden table." Great chat, guys.My old man's Christmas present was getting delivered the other day and my neighbour saw the delivery bloke. Knowing my folks were out, he went over and offered to take the parcel, but the driver said "nah it's okay, I'll just put it under this bush in the front garden."Mrs. Murrr waited 5-days while a parcel sat in the Aberdeen depot due to "adverse weather." This was last bloody week.Last year I took a day off work to wait for a delivery. The guy didn't even attempt to deliver it, and I found a "sorry, you weren't in" card sticking out of the letterbox at about 6pm. After some foraging I found a phone number, so I gave them a ring and they said they'd keep it in the depot for me to pick-up the next day. Easy game. I took an impromptu half-day and strolled up to the depot, only to find out they'd sent it out for delivery again without telling me. Cheers lads! I went a bit agro at the thick cunt who looked like he was in-charge and eventually got the bloody thing delivered to my parents' house two days later. What a kerfuffle. What is wrong with these bastards? From top to bottom the whole organisation just seems like a collection of the most illogical, unorganised dickheads on Earth. Everything about them is done so wrongly, it can't be coincidental. How the hell do they recruit? WANTED: SHITHEADS. BRAIN OPTIONAL.
Soda Jerk
There's an article about Yodel on the Sun site. This is one of the comments at the bottom. It's terrible, but also pretty hilarious:I got a delivery from Yodel recently, they sent me an email saying it had been signed for, which I thought was a little strange since no one would have been home. Checked online and the signature looked like it said 'BUSH'...thought maybe its one of my neighbours names?...got home and yup my package was shoved in the bush. The article is about how the driver quit, but their head office still keep giving her parcels to deliver. Yodel are shit and everything, but why didn't she just reject the parcels? Why did she keep letting them in her house? She probably made a nice bit of wedge selling her story to The Sun at least. Idiot.
Soda Jerk
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/4700154/I-borrowed-150-now-I-owe-10000.htmlSticking with the Sun, this article boils my piss. Are we meant to feel sorry for people who have borrowed money and not been able to pay it back and ended up in the shit? Welcome to reality. The people interviewed aren't even using the loans for essentials or emergencies. They're all saying it was for Christmas presents! Not exactly life or death, is it?“Incredibly, Payday Express wired me £150 like it was free money. But it isn't free money, you twat. That's you're mistake. Thinking the money is free and being a total shite. “Last Christmas, I resorted to a Payday UK loan to buy presents. A few weeks after I got the money, I contacted them to pay it off. But a representative told me just to pay the £25 interest and offered me more credit. I’d just borrowed another £350 and hadn’t even paid the existing balance owed.I don't understand how these companies are to blame for people being hideously irresponsible and not thinking of the consequences of borrowing money and not paying it back? Their APR's are huge, but these loans are meant to be paid back within a month, so you pay a fraction of that, unless you make the mistake of thinking some guardian-angel company are giving you free monetary handouts for you to not pay it back, then it's gonna mount up. It's a very small cost you pay on top of the borrowed amount if you pay it on time. These companies are useful for emergencies and credit building, but obviously if you're a total fucking fanny, borrowing money and splurging it and trying to hide from the debt, then they are going to wreck your finances, quite rightly, to prevent other creditors from giving you money which you will just run away with too. Why take out a Payday loan if you can't pay it back when you get paid, and then blame the company who gave you the money? They hide nothing. Their enormous interest rates and huge missed-payment fees are all available on their website. What exactly are they doing wrong? The user signs a contract. Not paying it back is a breach of the contract, and then the implications outlined clearly in the contract come into force. If you don't pay your mortgage, you risk losing your house. Missed car payment risk losing your car. This isn't any different.Only borrow money you can afford to pay back. If you can't, the shit you end up in is your own fault, surely.

fatboy
no advanced pay in December can't believe my work doesn't pay early in December, I got no gifts for anyone, running out of normal food, don't even have money left to get in something nice for our first Christmas together in our new flat... Trying to be festive but with no money it's pretty hard.
Soda Jerk
But they aren't good for credit building http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/loans/2012/11/wonga-payday-loans-do-wonders-for-your-credit-ratingI didn't know that actually. That's a bit odd. Even Citizens Advice Bureau are advising people to take short term loans and high interest credit cards to build poor credit ratings. That article also says that numerous credit applications in a certain amount of time can be detrimental to your credit score, which is conflicting to what some places will tell you. MattJimF
The numerous credit applications is true, had an advisor at a bank tell me to wait six months before trying for a credit card for that reason.

Spoonie
Payday loans are brutal. You should only be taking one out if you're absolutely desperate, it's a total necessity and can GUARANTEE that you'll have the money to pay if back. Very often people who take them think they're desperate, but it's not a necessity and they don't plan/budget well enough to pay it back. If you live close to the breadline, miss one repayment and watch what happens. You'll be in a world of hurt before you know itAnd the point about the multiple applications affecting your credit rating is true, so watch that. Stroopy121
Wonga's APR is 4,214%. That is fucking insane. Around 350% per month in interest? Totally understandable if you need a quick £50 to cover petrol or food until the end of the month, but would I fuck take that gamble to buy shit for christmas!xx
Teabags
I heard a story about a guy using those payday loans to build up a bankroll for his poker money. Luckily he was good at poker, as he's now made over £1m in earnings. However, since a lot of that was done using these loans, that does not make him a millionaire. He's made a million...he doesn't have a million.. It does however mean he's got enough of a roll to live comfortably off playing poker for now. Risky business. And before Christy tells me I'm a lying cunt, I heard this story when I was kinda drunk, so I may have made it up in my head, or combined two stories together or something. Spoonie
I'm not currently too strapped for cash (although I've yet to buy any Christmas presents - but I get paid tomorrow) but once I've spent everything I own on booze over Christmas, I'll probably be back in touch
