2008/2009 Season Thread

I reckon we should charge United a 5% charge on all away tickets sold...the club has been free-riding off of our tremendous support for years now. Its about time clubs stopped taking advantage of the faithful Aberdeen support.

Ahh yes, Aberdeen; like Newcastle, another team where the fans genuinely believe they should be challenging for the title in their respective league as well as playing in Europe every season because of some god- given right, the fading memory of distant success and a "faithful" "tremendous" (read gullible) support.

A team where boys in their travelling support (having just lost) will wave their wallet across the ground at the home support; If you've got so much money, why don't you buy a good keeper, pal? Or a good team that isn't full of ex- United boys, more to the point?

Get right to fuck!

1- No sane Dons fan genuinely thinks we should be challenging for the title every year.

2- We SHOULD be the third force in Scotland given the affluence of the one-team city and we SHOULD be playing in Europe every year. Not because we have a 'God given right' to, but because we should earn it by being good enough.

3- Wallets are waived in an attempt to the get the reaction that you've just given. To wind you scummy bastards up. ;)

[EDIT= P.S. Dundee's a total shithole.]

You are a bit of a plank really, aren't you?

What a terrible post.

Show me one Aberdeen fan who thinks we should be challenging for the title. That really isn't, and hasn't been an option for some time now.

also along the lines of them telling us that we have a fondness to sheep in a physical way!

its fitba min!!!

and the truth of the matter is that we should be in europe every year, BECAUSE WE ARE ABERDEEN!

p.s. i actually think are keeper is not too bad, would rather see us strenghten other areas first! an experienced centre half would be nice, a good finisher, and maybe another centre midfielder.

would love to see Deano back, but i can understand the reasons if we dont go for him.

A one legged russell anderson would do at the moment!

Aberdeen; like Newcastle,

Decent comparision, except that Newcastle can usually fill at least 90% of their ground Saturday in/Saturday out, whereas the sheep dip is never even half full unless the OF roll in. (Not that United are much better, but I don't want this to turn into a crowd w--k, that's what Pie And Bovril is for).

A lot of Aberdeen fans have always been comedy gold, espeically the ones who want Calderwood sacked: prey tell who you would bring in that would do a better job......

The Dons have been incapable of having two good halves

And there we have it - the players usually spend the entire first half trying to work out what they're supposed to be doing according to the latest spin of the tactical tombola. Given that the likes of Foster aren't exactly tactically astute at the best of times, this can only lead to a shambles. So we start games pishly.

Oh and are we really taking the "banter" of the Aberdeen/Utd-mad boards into this thread? Both sides just end up boring. I would say though that Aberdeen fans aren't in the same delusional league as Necastle. All we expect, generally speaking, is a manager that gets the best out of the squad we have, which right now is more than good enough to get us into Europe, seeing as everyone else is gash this season too.

Guest treader.
livi are 4 points behind saints dude. big match looming against the fife minks. do livi really have the bottle to force a title challenge?

You're four points behind saints, dude.

Also, no. We are coming away with nothing this season. Why change? We're stuck in our ways of being "neither here nor there" in the First Division.

I'll throw Billy Davies and Stevie Frail in the ring...

Not sure about Stevie Frail, but I'd take Billy Davies with a Dons man as his number two (Eric Black perhaps).

They can also have Brewster back for 250' date='000 if they like [/quote']

Easy now - we're trying to toughen our players up; not leave them with sore arses and reminding them of 'that incident' with their Uncle at their Mum and Dad's Christmas party circa 1982.

Wouldn't surprise me if players like Bebo McGuire and Iceskates Miller enjoyed that kind of thing
