Guitar solo on "Street Cred" by Laeto. In a way' date=' I hope they don't play it at their gig here in April cos I'll just end up embarrassing myself.

That solo is fucking ace. I got the ZWOA album off ebay for 99p :D

I love the guitar solo in Cemetary Gates by Pantera. Its ace and fits well with the song itself. I often feel that bands have wanky solos in their songs just for the sake of it.

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Little Wing...technically the whole thing is a solo but it is so frickin awesom.

Metallica - Unforgiven II...great solo, great backing guitar and keyboard lifting the ending up. Awesom.

Most of you fools are potentially as yet fairly unaware of Nuno Bettencourt's untouchable guitar playing, eh?

Extreme: 'He-Man Woman Hater'

she bangs the drums - the stone roses

how soon is now - the smiths

the fly - u2

If I was allowed to post my opinion on this thread, I would wholeheartedly agree with this choice. Spot on, Delboy. However, as Steve Temple said, the concept of the solo is decadent, useless and dangerous.

Almost every victor wooten song.

Lots of stu hamm (astral traveler is a good one)

Jeff Berlin's solo bass arrangent of 'Tears in heaven'

Michael Manring - monkey buissness man.

Too many guitar solos to mention, but here's few...

Lunar Sea - Camel (Andy Latimer)

Fairwell To Kings - Rush

Back To Shalla-Bal - Joe Satriani

I Would Love To - Steve Vai

City Of Tiny Lights - Frank Zappa (not sure if it's Zappa or a guest on geetar)

No Quarter (Live Version) - Zep

Yep, another virtuoso - but ike all of Satriani's students he tends to overcook it, but the solo from "Am I Ever Going To Change" from Extreme III is brilliant.
