  1. That was you?! Didn't have a clue man sorry! I remember that, discussing Horizons weren't we? The Dark Brown Sunburst one particularly... Good to know you went for something that will be a great guitar! I also remember not knowing too much about the Ibanez. You said you had the non Prestige version though yes? I can't remember your face atall, so so you are YouthGoneWild if in again!
  2. Who makes it? At first I thought it was a Gibson '67 with a custom paintjob but on closer inspection is that a Floyd on there? I'm more interested now!
  3. Machine Head - Imperium Pantera - Domination Suffocation - Infecting The Crypts Metallica - Frayed Ends Of Sanity Devildriver - Hold Back The Day
  4. I wish they played 'To Live Is To Die' and 'Orion' on S&M though, would've been amazing. I think Hetfield's voice was at it's best during Justice times for the thrashy stuff that they were doing on RTL, MOP and AJFA but as stuff that's a bit less hyper (Black Album, Load, Reload) has come into the sets, I think his voice has changed well to suit the stuff. Metallica are always gonna be a firm favourite of mine. I still wanna start a Metallica + Slayer + Pantera covers band by the way (hint hint everyone!).
  5. Awesome, that means I can attend as I have played a Fudge gig then?
  6. Well done guys. I'm not big on Caliban but it's a good slot for you lot to score. Congrats
  7. I dunno if I'll be at the awards but it's my 18th on Thursday so I'll be quite stumbly on Saturday
  8. I don't think of myself as a 'dodgy' member! I'm the Saturday guy who knows all the stuff about ESP and I'm usually found to be polishing the guitars/restringing them/sorting crap downstairs/plugging people in (without complaining about what they wish to play, what they wish to play it through, how they play etc.)
  9. What I heard was that he was trying to flog his business to his competitors. ?( Dunno what's happening with them. I think I have a slight bias to R&B though - for some reason... Anyone in particular? :S
  10. EDIT - Production on AJFA was reasonably pish - the songs were their best, Kirk's playing was his best (despite him having one of the thinnest lead tones in the universe of everness) and that Jason was inaudible. Other than that - AJFA for Prez!
  11. They've never completely drifted away from being a frequent listen for me, but somehow over the last few weeks 'Machine Head' have jetted to the top of my favourite bands list. Just can't get enough of them really!
  12. Higher Chemistry + Google to refresh memory "When you place dry ice into some warm or hot water, clouds of white fog are created. This white fog is not the CO2 gas, but rather it is condensed water vapor, mixed in with the invisible CO2. The extreme cold causes the water vapor to condense into clouds. The fog is heavy, being carried by the CO2, and will settle to the bottom of a container, and can be poured. You can produce enough ground - hugging fog to fill a medium sized room with a pound or so of dry ice." Some machines will use Nitrogen aswell, but as you said Flash, there will without a doubt be restrictions on this...
  13. I have actually listened to it recently. It's a shame that the production is so poor, because some of the material isn't too bad. Regarding the new album, I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully they'll let Kirk get his guitars back so he can actually do something this time! I saw some pictures of him playing Telecasters... maybe we'll get some rockin' blues solos
  14. OK, I have never practiced at the lockup before. I have never gigged at the lockup before. I've never been to a gig there before. I've never heard anyone practice there before. All I can really contribute to this thread is my wishes that everything goes well in the near future and that hopefully things somehow work out and that bands are allowed to play there once again and so on.
  15. Sorry, this is the first time I have looked at this thread... That has to be the funniest post I've ever read. o_O I haven't seen all of the above bands so can't say who is worst of the lot. I like Weeping Jesus and Element 106 though - so neither of them. When I saw Ascension, their sound was quite poor and I didn't enjoy it...
  16. I think the addition of another guitar player can be benificial if they are contributing to the sound of the band and adding that missing something. If they are working with the rest of the members and acting as the missing link then I feel that it is worthwhile that they are there
  17. I'm really looking forward to this gig
  18. I've messed with it before. I don't plan to use it for any of my own stuff though. I'm back to BF#BEG#C# for now on my ESP, so that'll be Fundamental Hate's tuning.
  19. This guy has to be one of the most impressive drummers I have ever heard. o_O Video 1 Video 2
  20. That's awesome dude! All maple body? Did you carve it or buy it from Warmoth or what? Loving the finish - red quilt tops always do it for me What's your plans for electronics? What pickups, control layout etc.? Hardware colour? Again, awesome man! James
  21. Na seriously, I wanted to go all out but I was in my mate's tent and he said that if I didn't have one after the second day then I'd not be allowed in to the tent
  22. The 'yellow' campsite which I was at last year had awesome showers. I heard about the other areas having complete crap but ours were actually really good. I agree about HAVING to have the camping - so worth it!
  23. Pantera - Domination Some of the best (fast) smooth legato playing I've ever heard. St. Anger had some good ones too
