givemeasmile
Little Kicks are good. To much naw material though. What does this mean?
Frosty Jack
I think they must be anti-independence.
Gladstone
Here's another Little Kicks acoustic thingy: http://glasgow.stv.tv/120435/ Steven Milne was on the new STV Glasgow channel the other night playing on the "Riverside Show" - I missed it when it was on, but here's the clip. TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Thread revival! I'm curious as to what bands people have recently discovered that they have enjoyed. I've perhaps not been to as many gigs as I'd have liked recently, so I could be missing out on some red hot jamz. Saying that, I saw Watchfires a wee while back and they were very good. Chris
I have not seen much recently but did catch Lizabett Russo supporting Rachel Sermanni the other night. She's improved a lot since last time I saw her, obviously been gigging heaps and it's really showing in her confidence. Jazz (sorry Jan) influenced folk. Lots of wailing vocals and some kazoo action. Bought her EP as well and was really enjoying it in the car this morning. https://soundcloud.com/lizabett-russo
MarkDrummer
Just caught up Marionettes' latest release, 'Wisdom to the Wise' and I rather like it. Also eagerly anticipating Dear John's album in September.

colb
His Name is Codeine were good last night but I wish they'd get a drummer, they'd be outstanding with someone battering away.

Adam Easy Wishes
Thanks! There is an album on the way, I promise...one day. P.S. Who are you? P.P.S. It's okay, I worked it out.
Camie
His Name is Codeine were good last night but I wish they'd get a drummer, they'd be outstanding with someone battering away. Completely agree with that. Came to the same conclusion at that gig as well. Without the drummer they seem too one-dimensional, but I think if they got a drummer, they'd potentially be brilliant. TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
They have had a drummer, and it was fucking great. At one point they also had a keyboard player who did a bit of percussion too.
MarkDrummer
Adam, an album would be lovely. If you're not locked in a practice space

There's an album. Check the FULL LENGTH ALBUM with DANCE REMIX BONUS TRACKS. Check the track "You're married I'm discreet". I don't know what's going on. You can faintly hear the backing track, in the background, like it's being played in the next room. This is genuinely the worst stuff I've ever heard. He makes Gordon Duthie sound like fucking Prince. I am bringing this thread back from the dead to highlight how great this is.

Teabags
Milner never did say how he could hate Boak when he had never heard us... However, we have heaps of recordings up now, and I'm fairly sure he'll think it's just noise, but I doubt he's had a listen. So he was right, while being wrong. Fucking schrodinger and shit. This thread was fucking great. Miss Lucid are still fucking shit.

ca_gere
Holy fuck, the dance remix of 'You're married, i'm discreet' is gold. It's not a remix, he's just sung it again somewhat in time with a different beat. His stuff sounds like songs 'zany' people sing to themselves doing menial tasks. 'I'm doing the dishes... getting them clean' kinda thing.

I don't pay much attention to music in Aberdeen now that I've blown up all over the Internet. If he's part of Absolutist now though, well I've got to stick with my word as a man of conviction.
