MattJimF
As long as it's ripe and the bag is sealed it works. Also works with ripe apples - http://www.thekitchn.com/smart-tip-to-quickly-ripen-an-avocado-use-a-banana-167383
Paranoid Android
Hard avocados Yes! My closest supermarket usually sells good ones but the other day I cut into one and found it was almost all as solid as a rock. Extreme disappointment. Old Gold
Yes! My closest supermarket usually sells good ones but the other day I cut into one and found it was almost all as solid as a rock. Extreme disappointment. Spanish Avocados are immense.
Paranoid Android
True. I'm not sure if I'd ever even eaten Avacado before I came here. Not often anyway. I love them these days though. And homemade guacamole is amazing. Talking about avacados >>>>>>>> talking about sexism
Old Gold
You'll probably be fairly disappointed in the UK version. Actually, UK fruit is shite. Pet hate.
Paranoid Android
Good berries. Although do pick your own places still exist? I have a feeling they might have disappeared years ago but I have fond memories of getting massive baskets of lovely Strawberries and Raspberries.

Stroopy121
Apparently avocado a fruit? Also, avocados are known as Alligator Pears. And they can be grown in the UK with some fuckery-bootery, but I don't think they are. xx
The Milner
You can still go hand picking strawberries and stuff in the summer. Pet Hate - Those stupid video adverts that automatically play when you go onto certain web sites like Talk sport. You open 10 tabs to read different stories and the fucking thing starts up 10 times! Does anyone ever actually let those videos play out or pay any attention to them?

Paranoid Android
I completely agree with the hate for videos which play automatically. It's infuriating.
KarmaTsunami
This month is going to be SHIT at work. The University term dates are changing so we have all our deadlines AND the most stressful day of the year (my exam boards) crammed into two weeks. For larger departments who have the staff it's okay, but in my department it's horrific. Also auto-play videos.Fuck those too.
Mr Owl PhD
I'm worried about that change in term dates too, although maybe more for how crazy it'll be next year than at the moment. The worst time of year for me is often around the time the second semester starts because you get the get the two semesters 'colliding' (marking and reports to finish for the first semester and then everything to set up for the second). The change in dates is only going to make them collide even more I reckon.
KarmaTsunami
It also means our Summer is totally shit this year. Graduation too soon after Exam Boards, re-sits in JULY and then term starts back really early. We've got three/four folk trying to work in their holiday hours and not enough time. Manager actually said 'take them at the end of May'. When the exams are on? Good one. But yes, the whole change in term dates is a pet hate too. Skubbs
They were pretty slow in confirming them too, we've had people practically at our throats because we were unable to confirm any dates it's shitty to hear just how badly other departments are affected. KarmaTsunami
The main problem is trying to implement too many big changes at once.
Mr Owl PhD
The main problem is trying to implement too many big changes at once. No matter how annoying, unnecessary and poorly-conceived those big changes might be, just keep in mind that instigating them is keeping much of the upper level management in jobs. And it would obviously be terrible to put them out of a job.
Jaaakkkeee
After 2 hours I find out I'm 32nd in line for my piercing. Wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't a PA. Anticipation is a pet hate.
