Moose
Oh yeah Radcliffe is pretty rank, makes me laugh how he tries to do serious stuff - yer Harry Potter man and always will be.... so live with it! Speaking of which the latest Potter film arrived on rental DVD today. The ginger in the Potter films is pretty wank as well and called Rupert as well which gives him extra punchability factor! No way, he's a good actor. Especially when put next to Radcliffe and that cute wee lassie. They are both woeful, the lassie in particular. (Emma Watson; that's what she's called.) The strange thing is that Watson is the one that gets the best reviews from the critics. I'd probably say she's the worst of the 3 (but I want to bang her the most). Anyway, Rupert Grint is a decent actor IMHO. He seems like a bit of a dude as well.
Alphas
If you liked that you should get John Krakauer's other booking 'Into Thin Air'. Its about the 1996 Everest disaster. Really, really good.Yeah, read that one last year (on a boarding holiday funnily enough). Brilliant book. A bit of an eye-opener about how commercialised something so dangerous had become. If you're rich and can walk...yer in!
Paranoid Android
Penelope Cruz is better than Keira Knightly, and the silent empty space occupied by absolutely nobody is better than Bloom's dreadful everything-is-dramatic acting. Man, I hate that guy.Well obviously. Oh I found that comment odd at first but I've just realised that Cruz is in the new one. She is clearly the better actress and more attractive too. I've never had a problem with Knightly or Bloom anyway, not great actors sure but good enough for what they normally do.

Grint has some ability as an actor but his face just annoys me but he is much better than the other two of that there is no doubt.

Man, I hate that guy.Absolutely agree. See?Elizabethtown. Very slow, but the ending is quite good. I can't see the fascination with Orlando Bloom at all. Legolas aside, he's a very average actor with virtually no screen presence whatsoever. It's like watching a microphone stand trying to act. I just find him incredibly dull to watch. Lemonade
500 Days Of Summer - Wow. Absolutely loved this film. Was expecting a bog standard rom com, and while it was rom com in parts, it also turned out to be an indie-style coming of age story (which I'm always a sucker for), albeit with some laugh-out-loud funny bits. There's not much to the story, Guy meets girl, things start out great, then they go wrong, and they break up. That's pretty much the whole film. It doesn't sound much but it really is. If you follow me on twitter you'll have seen me gush words such as "beautiful", "wonderful", "inspiring" and "uplifting" as soon as I got done watching it, and 2 days on I stand by that. Really fantastic.*****
Soda Jerk
I hated it. Too many really painful obscure music references, like Adventureland had. That always kills a film for me. It always seems way too contrived and forced. Just tell a story without having to cram "Hey, let's listen to my Husker Du LPs and get stoned" into the script. Bleh. I'm petty, I knowBesides that, the whole thing just felt like it was trying way too hard to be some sort of low-bidget indie-flick, despite having a huge budget with huge stars in it. The whole thing felt very ungenuine, if that's even a word. It is now.

I quite liked Adventureland though. It's clearly just a Zooey/3rd rock Leviit guy vehicle masquerading as a quirky indie film. I was mentally ticking off boxes on a list of indie film cliches as I watched it. They crammed them all in. I watched it with a group of folk and we actually groaned in unison at some of them. I felt the same with Juno and to a certain extent Little Miss Sunshine.

Lemonade
I despised it. Because I despise women.Dude. I got dumped two days before I watched it. It was always either going to get 1 out of 5 or 5 out of 5 depending on whether it made me feel uplifted or miserable. I decided to focus on the happy ending. But I also hate women. Old Gold
Man, 500 Days of Summer was really really bad. The guy works as a fucking greeting card writer (obviously based on the screenplay writer's day job). When Zooey says she likes the Smiths, the kid from 3rd Rock From the Sun reacts like she's just told him that they share a completely out-there fetish or something. And the girl at the end is named after a season too. Groan. That's all I can remember, except discussing how totally crap it was. 0/

ca_gere
Don't get me wrong, i'd use the girl's shit for toothpaste but Zooey dechamel isn't half churning out guff nowadays. Playing up the vintage charity shop dressing quirky thing like there's no tomorrow. I find this advert just as annoying as the 'Godfava free' one.YouTube - Zooey Deschanel Cotton Ad Commercial HQ Video

delboy
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1) - the darkest of the series so far but good nonetheless and looking forward to the final part. Emma Watson wasn't as annoying as usual.London Boulevard - my kind of film, a good old-fashioned British gangster. Colin Farrell with dodgy London accent (as perfected in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream), Keira Knightley being her usual wooden self, an abundence of jobbing British actors such as Ray Winstone (not really typecast as a hard as nails crime boss), Eddie Marsden, Anna Friel, David Thewlis, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Matt 'super hans' King and Stephen Graham. It worked for me and was well watchable but as I say its my kind of film.

I'd ordered some rom-coms for my gf's friend who was staying at our's when I was on holiday - this was the only reason this film was in my possession :O Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler in predictable rom-com. The odd amusing line from Butler's chauvanist (with a hidden soft heart) character. Some dreadful acting from Heigl 2/
