Soda Jerk
To be honest, I only ever gave Orchid one listen. I like screamo when it's melodic, I think. Palatka have that scratchy nerdy vocal thing going on too. I dig that.I haven't listened to Orchid for years though, and my preferences have changed since then. Maybe I will give them another go. I have a CD somewhere. The one that has 2 albums on it.

Rusty Deathnail
I just bought April too and got a copy of Ghosts of the Great Highway from a friend. Carry Me Ohio slays me everytime. Salvador Sanchez is also superb. I really can't get enough right now. Will be hitting the Red House Painters back catalogue pretty soon methinks.Got a Phil Spector compilation too. He did have his moments, that can't be denied. Also enjoyed the Friendly Fires album. Nice mix with plenty of poppy vocals.

Pierre Von Mondragon
It must now be said that the forthcoming Decemberists album 'Hazards of Love' is a riff heavy folk-rock treat of a concept album, and mostly great, 'Repaid' is awesome.
