  1. I guess it's something that will never be fully known. I was out in plenty of time for the 2nd last bus home for goodness sake. I had a funny MySpace message in reply to the bulletin I put out for it along the lines of "I'm not going to the Weapon gig and want to go to this but 6?! GUUUUUTED." 6 for 5 bands... one from Austria, one up from Brighton. It's not that much to ask of anyone. I had a fantastic time. Didn't realise 3 Times Round Would've been on so sharp so only cought the last few songs. Quite impressed. Catchy tunes and played quite well. Hadn't seen At Long Last for a good few months when they were quite sloppy. I didn't enjoy the set too much but it was obvious Jason wasn't feeling too good. It's not the kind of sound I listen to much, particularly the lead vocal style but there's many good ideas in there. Quik were a joy as always. The newest songs fairly get my approval and the oldies were on form as usual. But Phinius Gage and Red Lights Flash took the gig up a good few notches. Both fantastic, tight, melodic. A joy to watch. Like you said Kirk, I don't get why people don't stick around. Even only a few of the support band members seemed to have stayed for PG and RLF. Their loss.
  2. I'm heading off on holiday for the first time without family in June. 4 of us girls are going to Salou for a week. Theme park, water park and Barcelona We're flying from Glasgow, seeing the All-American Rejects the night before and the day we go is also the best friend's birthday. Pool-side cocktail celebrations, woo! I'm not too hot on the old saving up business but my last installment of the student pennies is going toward it and I've done some overtime over the Easter break off uni. Also, if things go to plan, to celebrate my step-dad's 50th and brother's 21st, we're hoping to head to New York right after exams. Fingers and toes crossed!

    Bad Santa

I went to see this at the Belmont when it came out and the only other people there were old couples. Judging by the look on their faces, is wasn't really their cup of tea... Bargain.
  4. I may or may not have told people I am in A Gayboy Scene whilst flyering for this gig in the early hours of Thursday morning. Quite a few people seemed rather interested so here's hoping it's fine and busy. I'm looking froward to it, haven't had a Thursday night off work since November, urgh.
  5. I beg your pudding. It was Drummonds, I thought I'd read Kef on the flyer. No idea who played. I fancied catching Kenisia but after work and an early start today, I didn't quite make it out.
  6. I'd love to see this one but I'm going to be on holiday then
  7. Stayover were down as to be confirmed support for Kenisia at Kef last night, along with The Boring Ending and 'support'. I didn't even know of this gig until I picked up a filthy flyer off Belmont Street on the early hours of Thursday morning. Gross. Seems that none of the band knew of this. Tis a bit fishy.
  8. Tonight is work then party time. A school friend and workmate's 21st birthday so we'll have to celebrate accordingly. Tomorrow is work again, all afternoon, then heading to The Moorings for Scunner, Will Wilson, Onion Terror and The Ghosts of Bongo. 3, 8 pm doors. Sunday fuck knows. I'd like to go swimming, I shall do that.
  9. And be sure to check out new song 'Only for the Night' up on myspace here - http://www.myspace.com/rxbandits If this is the shape of things to come, I will leave this world a happier person. 5 weeks, woo!
  10. Who knows and who gives a shit? Emo is the most horrid generic "fashion" to grace this world. If anyone is sad enough to look like all of their mates with their tight trousers, black zip-ups, specs and sweepy hair, let it be. I believe they are emo for everyone else to rofl at. Colours and patterns is what it's about. I can't believe I'm actually replying in this thread.
  11. Hahahahaha, excellent. I was in the hairdresser last week and one of the very unprofessional juniors informed me of the woman, Pube Head, who was about to come in and to "check out her hair." When she appeared through the door, both juniors and myself didn't know where to look. The most unnatural barnet I've ever seen. See, hairdressers can be fun. ANYWAYS, keep the hair Ca$ino!
  12. Don't feed her rabbit. Honestly, what can she do if the girls just come down anyway? I wouldn't back down to her. Use your balls and just go for it. What's the worst that could come out of it?
  13. Many Emo oil lorries were spotted on my trip do Dublin last year. I did rofl the first time.
  14. I work on a kiosk and the amount of people who've said they'll be quitting has been quite surprising. Not sure if I buy it. Even if they cut down a bit, that's a good thing. Nae really my business who smokes and who doesn't and I don't really care. Smoke doesn't bother me that much when I'm out, apart from the smell and the croaky throat I get but I am looking forward to the ban. I'm all for smoking areas/rooms in pubs but then again you've still got the staff working in among it, yadda yadda. At the end of the day, we could all argue 'til we're blue in the face but there's not much that can be done now.

    Bobby Watch

Ah yes, that animal print g-string entered the conversation on Friday. "I'm still wearing it." Hahahaha. Nice to see you again so soon.
  16. $up and Failsafe both at Drakes 2/3 years ago. If I could ever go half the time they did with such energy, I'd be pleased. More recently, Yellowcard seemed to be running on something special last week in Glasgow and Sonic Boom Six always put on a very lively show.
  17. A Nutella-smothered bagel followed by a mountain of grapes, pineapples and strawberries. Washed down with an Innocent pineapple and coconut smoothie.
  18. Ben of At Long Last fame had his stolen from Exodus too. Rubbish.
  19. It's recorded on my phone and I have no idea how to get it on the computer. It's not that good, 4 minutes of Matt forgetting the words, giggling and my whispering due to losing my voice. Get me to let you hear it next time I see you, whenever that may be.
  20. Ah, what a gig! I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Gig of the year so far One Man Race - on top form as usual. Quite a fan of the lead vocals, played very tightly. Got the afternoon off to a fine start, very enjoyable to watch. 4/5 25th Is Not An Option - as with the couple of times I've seen them before, they started off very well and got gradually boring. You can tell they have it in them but I didn't think it was a very polished set. 2/5 Taking Chase - going on the 2 original TC songs, these guys are going to creep up the thumbs-up meter. Could never have guessed it was their first gig, sounded superb. Exciting tunes, nice different sound too. The recycled Living for the End and The Confession were done very nicely, great new touches. Will look forward to seeing them with more tunes. 4/5 Granite Emcees - I was looking forward to these, being different to the average band of the gig but I'm afraid I wasn't very impressed. They came across as rather amateur and the backing tracks all sounded the same, dunno if it was just one long one... Not sure if they were freestyling it in bits but it sounded like it. nil poi/5 The Upstarts - wonderful. I wouldn't have expected anything less. Nice set, tight as always, grand for a bit of a boogey. Hit the Bottle is the tune. 4.5/5 Thinkpol - OMFGM8. Fantastic. I had built them up in my head for so long and definitely not disappointed. The melodies, the energy, the total rocking out. Is This Goodbye and The Rhino Rules are magic live. 'mon the return to the 'deen. Made for lovely house guests too. I have a very drunken recording of Matt doing Wings by Skylar. 5/5 for that alone. Sonic Boom Six - what can you say, really? Bloody great they were. The new tunes are sounding mighty and the old ones were done as good as always. Northern Skies and Blood For Oil were highlights of the night. Monkey See, Monkey Do too, best dancing song ever. Can't wait for the new album another 5/5 Thank you Kirk! P.S. I somehow acquired a couple of mix tapes/CDs that look wonderful. Off for a wee listen now.
  21. I think it'll be fine. I heard on the radio there's a stand-still southbound on the A90, no problems for coming up though, probably just a bit of a go-slow.
  22. Aaargh, as much as I love the snow, by mid-March, I'm over it. I hope it's only going to be SOA pulling out. That sucks. I'm just away to make my CD now. Minimal effort.
  23. Haha, the gateway to promote some ska. Love it. Since this has been bumped, I'd like to show some appreciation for the following. Not the best ever but particular current favourites: The Kids Are Alright - Goldfinger. Although this is a cover, it's skanking heaven. Going into the second chorus, makes me rather excited. Love Loss Learn - Howards Alias. Can't label them a ska band but this tune has it's fare share of lovely upstrokes. Sounds of We, The Loneliest Life, Day In Day Out and Survive by the mighty King Prawn. Enough said. Rockupation - Mad Caddies. So much to chose from these boys but this is my current favourite. Proper smile on the face shit here. Guestlist/Hitlist - Shootin Goon (We All Have To) Burn Something - Big D and the Kids Table. Try and NOT have a boogey to this. High five for the earlier Antimaniax mention. I'm totally looking forward to the new album. As Long As People Think and I'm Without Sleep In This Desert Of Concrete fill me with so much joy it's unreal. I also wouldn't mind seeing them again but after the poor crowd show of the Kef date a few years ago, it would appear they're in no hurry to return
  24. Oh my, I just read a review from the Leeds date with SB6 and Thinkpol. This is going to me awesome. (http://www.punktastic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14499) I'm also worried about myself drinking from before 5 in the afternoon. Special times though
