  1. Shadows Chasing Ghosts and Hexes are support for this tour. I'd love to go see Finch again but I'll be out of town then.
  2. That poster has got me even more excited. Magic. Sure the tour's going to start off with a bang up here, can't wait!
  3. Black and chrome Session Pro kit. Never been used. Was bought for 210, selling for 100. I'm doing this on behalf of an awesome customer from my work. She nagged her husband to buy her a drum kit, so he did. She's since realised she's hopeless and it's just taking up space and gathering dust. Give June a phone on (01224) 495998 in the evening/ weekend or give me a shout if you'd prefer to email her and I'll pass on her address. Ask around your friends too!
  4. Support is going to be The Hijacks and Onion Terror. Beasting! MySpace.com - The Hijacks - Aberdeen, UK - Ska / Punk - www.myspace.com/hijackska MySpace.com - Onion Terror - Aberdeen, UK - Punk / Rock / Ska - www.myspace.com/onionterror Get in touch for cheap tickets, 5.50
  5. After 12 years together and 6 awesome albums, California's finest punk-rock-rap (call it what you like) band are heading up to Aberdeen next Thursday, May 29th. They're insanely good live and are super smashing great guys. Tickets are available from One-Up for 8.50. Not sure who support is yet. They have Sherwood for the 2nd half of the tour, but not this. Hopefully get an announcement soon! http://www.myspace.com/zebrahead http://www.zebrahead.tv
  6. Should be alright to buy on the night. 12 is a bit steep but they're a great live band. Looking forward to it!
  7. Judging by the amount of promo he was doing, I think it was Shaun who was DJing (or supposed to be...).
  8. Ace, I think I might go to that. 2, cheap night out
  9. Also, Antimaniax. Perhaps the one and only time I'll see them. I think The X-certs supported and took the majority of people over to the Lemon Tree where I think Alyssa's Wish were playing. Whatever it was, about 15 people were left watching Antimaniax, who were brilliant. Not surprised they haven't been back to Scotland since.
  10. Does what it says on the tin, really. Visiting old derelict buildings and letting others see. I've just been introduced to this website which does just that and there are a few places in and around Aberdeen. Some quality photos, some pretty creepy too, especially those from asylums... UK Urban Exploration Forums There's Satrosphere Satrosphere Aberdeen 9/3/08 - REPORT - UK Urban Exploration Forums and although not exactly derelict, the Bon Accord Baths Bon Accord Baths, Aberdeen, 30/01/08 - REPORT - UK Urban Exploration Forums For anyone who hasn't seen these yet, there's some impressive viewing!
  11. I like a bit of the Jack Johnson every now and again. I recently did the 12 and a half hour bus journey to London overnight and listened to all his albums back to back, which made for a lovely trip. I hoped it'd send me to sleep though, didn't work.
  12. I think Neil and Chas got naked at that gig, maybe the others too. They upgraded to a spaceship the next time I saw them
  13. HOW DID I FORGET THIS? I remember going home to my mum asking if I enjoyed the gig. I didn't know what to tell her. That gig was amazing. My friend Sam (SamWise, if he still posts) accidentally bought Captain Everything's album, thinking it was Lightyear's. I had to change it for him, with Lightyear subsequently ripping it out of CE. All in good faith, obviously. Can't believe it's going to be a hotel, that's crazy.
  14. Ace, thank you. I just realised the 15th is next Saturday - not this one - so even better. See you then
  15. Aye min, fit time's The Hostiles gonnae be on? I have the busiest weekend since records began but would very much like to see my Ayr friends and Eric Euan again!
  16. That'll be fun doing the structural work for that!
  17. Yeah, I only saw Capdown once at Kef, poor show! And I'm never going to get over the fact that I didn't go to see the RX Bandits when they were touring on their Progress album. Had some rare times in Kef, mainly a heap of brilliant UK ska and punk acts like Failsafe, The King Blues, Random Hand, Spankboy, Sonic Boom Six and such. A couple of the Halloween gigs I went to were ace, I have some funny pictures from 4/5 years ago. Funeral For A Friend were magic and all the times The 44s played seemed to be nice and busy. Only been a few times in the last year or so and played to an awesome crowd with The JB Conspiracy in January, which was ace. Why is it closing, or have I missed that?
  18. I would love to be Mr Phil Vickery's wife. Fern's great. She doesn't give a monkey's about her body and look where it's got her. I'm jealous!
  19. Johnny, if you're still struggling, look at an Evening Express advertisings bit and there's always a guy under Ian's Roofing or something. His smiley face makes me think he's very good. And he's got plenty of experience. I've even seen a van with his face plastered across it. Apologies if you've already tried him. I attempted a quick google but couldn't find him, only these bunch: http://www.192.com/local/ABERDEEN/ROOFING/IANS_ROOFING/XCD6E72300C734527B353FA838B9CCC93
  20. So gutted I missed this. I got off the not so Megabus from London at 9pm and felt so rotten I just had to get to bed. I don't even think someone used my ticket either. Waste of money
  21. My goodness, he's brilliant! Sorry, I don't have any suggestions regarding a location...
  22. Classic time-wasting stuff. Not quite music discussion so I'll put it here. Here's the deal: Main Page - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Go on to Wikipedia and press random article. This is your band name. Press random article again. This is your band's album name. Press random article another 10-15 times. These are your album track titles. Name: Warning Album: Tarazona 1. Balintang Channel 2. John Plamenatz 3. Thena 4. Bill Brand 5. PYP 6. Camp Whelen 7. New International Economic Order 8. Londonderry Township 9. Balarampur, Budgebudge 10. Bob Herbert 11. hit40uk 12. Verbatim theatre 13. The upheavals of Twelve warlords Somehow don't think that's Top of the Pops material....
  23. Is there any other support? Trying to decide if I should take the night off work or just go in early...
  24. The standout gig of the year for me was Sonic Boom Six, The King Blues, Failsafe and Mouthwash at Kef in March. The first 3 are 3 of my favourite UK bands and are all amazing live, so to have them play on the same night was just ace. There was a massive crowd, everyone was dancing and it was just one of those gigs with a great atmosphere. Other notable gigs were: Gallows at The Tunnels The JB Conspiracy at Drouthy's in Dundee Chief at The Tunnels and in North Berwick w/ Howards Alias The Living End at Glasgow Cathouse Zebrahead at Glasgow Cathouse The King Blues are on at The Tunnels on Weds 5th Dec and Sonic Boom Six are playing Drummonds on Fri 7th Dec. Check 'em out!
