  1. Like Panic DHH and Motormark? I hear they're playing Moshulu on Saturday the 25th of September with support from Strobing Goat and M.A.R.T. Someone told me doors are 7pm, and that tickets will be available from the Bassment priced 4 in advance, or you can pay 5 on the door on the night. *coff*
  2. Not 100% what you're asking for, but close enough and something I think you'd really, really like: Cobra Killer 76/77 Also T.Raumschmiere's Radio Blackout is probably along the lines of which you seek.
  3. I have to recommend these guys, not because they've asked me to - Hell, they wouldn't need to. I've made three orders (a couple of two CD orders, then five at once - But more on that in a moment) and received two free CDs from them already. Anyway, check out CD Baby. They predominantly stock lesser known American artists, but the range they stock is phenomenal! You can browse by mood, artist and style plus they have decent recommendations and usually a lot of in depth info on each album, downloads etc. Have a looksee, but they have everything from 80's hair metal to drum'n'bass, avant garde improv to solo acoustic. But the best thing, for those that like to take chances, is that they have a $5 dollar sale on. Buy three or more titles from their sale and you get them for $5 each. I ordered 5, got them delivered with a free album for under 20 quid. I can't recommend this site enough for anyone that likes taking a chance on music. Plus they take Paypal, which has made it far too easy to buy foo.
  4. Hard to think what to suggest that I could guess you'd like. One thing I definitely think you'd enjoy is the Dhol Foundation, Johnny Kalsi's (Afro Celts) dhol drum ensemble which were fantastic live. I don't know if they transfer well to CD, but it's worth keeping any eye open as I beleive their new CD comes out later this year. You've probably heard my second suggestion, but I think you'd like Fourtet. Often described as 'folktronica', the album Rounds is well worth a listen. For a more pop edge, I could recommend Piney Gir. Her album Peakahokhoo is a varied bag lurching between snarly electroclash and perky alt.country electronica. Great sense of humour and fun in the songs. Seeing her live earlier this year was ace, it's an entirely synthetic album - right down to the MIDI guitar.
  5. Everywhere seemed really quiet last night, I've no idea what was going on.
  6. Yeah, off to see them in Glasgow at King Tut's this Sunday. Well looking forward to it, like, loving the Volume 1 album. There's a long interview with Jason in the most recent Anti-Up magazine, too. Stonking stuph. Loving the Like Wow stuff, as well - Been on a mission to get as much Thomas Truax material since I saw him at Truck Fest.
  7. This week I've mainly been buying: Le Reno Amps album Like Wow - Burn, World, Burn Jason Trachtenburg - Revolutions Per Minute Fonda 500 - HiFiHair Meanwhile, Back In Communist Russia - My Elixir, My Poison and A Tale Of Two Sisters on DVD.
  8. Yep, last chance to see attend Elizium at Dr Drakes - Witness the night that transformed Brian Fudge from a rock-loving monster to a rock-loving-monster-who-likes-some-electronic-industrial-madness-now-too (1). Voted "Best Night To Be a Barman At" by Nicky Ca$ino (2), Drakes staff have literally been fighting to work the last one! (3) Savour the smallest cubic feet of clubbage in Aberdeen, marvel at the drunken state of the DJs thinking they're cool, massage their ego with your feet, feed the bar with your money. Ziggy Fantastic thinks we're the bees knees (4), Drummer Jim thinks the sun shines from our collective asses (5) and Shaz daily worships a small shrine to Elizium that she's constructed in her bedroom out of old flyers (6). Some of which she got us to sign for her (7). Last ELIZIUM this Saturday (21st of August). 11pm till 3am. Dr Drakes. (1) Brian Fudge reserves the right to like other types of music. (2) Voting may or may not have occured. Results based on prediction. (3) Bare knuckle events took place in the alley between Drakes and O'Henrys. (4) In that we are small, furry, and useless unless associated with legs. (5) May be wishful thinking, on account of seering pain and untimely death this would cause. (6) No planning permission was sought. Legal action is being persued. (7) She said it was for her mate, but what's the chances of her friend's name being 'Sharon' too?
  9. Sweet! Well deserved I'll be taking a book on your presence on the Rough Trade Counter Culture compilation of the year...
  10. Mad Capsule Markets would fucking rock. Sonic mentalism ahoy in September, too, with Panic DHH and Motormark playing Moshulu on the 25th September. Just had to squeeze that one in there.
  11. Woo, can't Wait. Ahahahah... hahah.. ha. I'll get my coat.
  12. Me, definitely. Missed them at Truck Records due to staying and watching Lach in the loung tent - But been listening to their EP since I picked it up. Rockin', well looking forward to it.
  13. Sons And Daughters are ace, rockin' alt-country that for once doesn't bother to hide their Scottish accents. Their debut EP thing on Domino records is a gleeful thing. Plus for just six quid a ticket you can do a lot worse - Surely both TS and Le Reno Amps must be worth a fiver alone... Gamble a quid on S&D?
  14. Oh it's going ahead alright, just awaiting a final band and then tickets will go on sale.
