  1. Whilst I remember (and my second threadjack this thread, go me!) - The new Motormark album is going to be a bit special, from what I've heard so far!
  2. Oh you'd be surprised to what cack I listen to Yar, we booked The Kitchen for their first ever gig (*glowing pride*). Only seen them once since and the sound is coming along in leaps and bounds - Their album is going to be released on Damaged Goods, I believe. Missed Dirty Hospital when Del got them up, was much annoyed about that - Look forward to hearing the remix, from what I've heard of DH's stuph it will indeed be my cup of tea. It sounds like the sort of thing we'd play at Elizium (we're 1/3 electrotrash whores, after all). I'm back from Washington DC on Thursday, so depending on how the travelling affects me I may try and make it out to the Moorings. Ta for the info!
  3. I must admit to having never seen the Real Shocks live yet - It's just been something I've failed to do but meant to for a while. Must... rectify. I remember seeing an EP on the shelves of some record shop a while ago, are there copies still floating around?
  4. Really? I thought the last album was pretty solid - much more so than their first release. I stopped reading the music press a while ago, so I must have missed all the hype around them - Haven't seen any live reviews as a result, either. I'd be interested to see them live, though.
  5. Woo, yay, and indeed hoopla. Must remember to check out Broken Spindle...
  6. I got a couple of their albums on the night, and they sound just as sweet to me - Maybe not quite as powerful as they got on stage but beautiful none the less - The newest album (See You In Hell) has a lot more layers of sound to it than the sparse live act, but it works very well. The other I bought (Your Bloated Corpse Has Washed Ashore) has a lot of the songs they played in Drakes and are very similar to the live renditions.
  7. Desc sounded like The Dirty Three rubbed together with the Violent Femmes until PJ Harvey turned up to see what the noise was. I was dissappointed to find they only had a four track EP available because I thought they were excellent. But Peurto Meurto... By god, absolutely entrancing - Such a pair of lungs for such a slip of a woman! Twisted shanties and alt.country tales of the end of the world. It's what monday nights are all about.
  8. Hubba hubba, I'm well perked about this. Hope I don't miss Desc, I can't turn up until about 9pm.

    Low

Hubba hubba! Tis the trend for comprehensive b-side and rarities collections, tho... Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds has been held back until start of next year now, though.
  10. Dear lord, sounds like nothing but a bunch of hooligans with some kind of art-agenda. ... See ya there.
  11. BRII has been out in Japan for a few months, and can be bought in Region 3 DVD from cdwow.com The sequel takes place after previous survivors get together and form a terrorist group aimed at waging war at adults in retaliation. So the adults change the BR act and recruit a class to go in and get the terrorists. Hilarity ensues.
  12. The girl at the beginning was the previous year's winner.
  13. I didn't watch all of it, but it looked like the normal edition. The deleted scenes and requiem scenes are in the special edition, yeah. One thing I did notice was that the version Channel 4 showed had superior subtitles to the Tartan release. Boo.
  14. I can't believe 8 months has gone by since someone last ate breakfast.

    the blacklist

Yar, 'word' on the streets is they loved playing in Scotland so much they'll be back later this year... There's a picture of me on their site, somewhere, too One of the best bands we've booked for an Elizium ever.

Oddness, which Psydoll do you mean? o.O

    the blacklist

Dear god, what did Matt do to end up being blacklisted?
  19. The TG double act of Chris and Cosey were DJ'ing upstairs and played anything but TG, it seems. Downstairs was just Can, I beleive. But, considering the breadth of Can's sound it was less monotonous than I feared.
  20. I've been spoiled with all the laid-back gigs I've been to of late, so I forgot to even think of ear protection. More fool me. I stayed downstairs for the second Wire set, so I can tell you nothing about how it was. My first post was confusing, sorry - What I meant was T. Rauschmeire had pulled out of playing. Boo. Stayed for like 10 minutes of Tim Wright's set, but after Pan Sonic upstairs and the Liars I kinda felt saited and left.
  21. I agree to all of the above. I'd like to add the following: My FUCKING EARS. ARGH. Ta, Wire. Pity the Liars couldn't make it, nice to see The Birthday Party have reformed. (Absolute magic!). Boo on the Modey Lemon thing, woo to Chris and Cosey for some ace DJ choices upstairs. T Rauschmeire pulled too. Overall, fucking hey!
  22. Don't diss drum machines - Doktor Avalanche was the only member of the SoM Eldritch never sacked...
  23. Strobing Goat are well worth checking out - For a two-body combo they kick out a serious noise!
  24. Hubba hubba, it's going to be a great night.
