Last year I said it was 80's metal but having been bombarded with all this Emo type music from bands like FFAF' date=' Yellowcare, etc - I say without a shadow of date that this type of music is by far the MOST replusive ever created. Its boy band music with a slightly dirtier guitar

[b'](Not Birdman) - Because I am not Adam Florence(Birdman)

Yellowcard are not emo. They are prettyboy pop-punk.

he he , it's lists like that, that just prove how blinkered peoples tastes are, "top 5 worst" (varied and interesting) "best 5" = very narrow and similar styles of music.

excellent.

I like : metal, Punk, Heavy metal, doom metal, goth metal, metal metal, iron metal, copper metal, hardcore punk metal, neo-deth metal punk metal metal.

Who says my tastes are narrow ? did you read my list ?!

worst ever form of music ?

probably the stuff that attracts the most morons and simpletons. (happy hardcore anyone ? I mean, bagpipes + gabba ?,....fit? you have to be a spotty mouthed, burbery hat wearining moron to like that stuff...ho ho)

Ska

I hates it.

Are you talking the "original ska", or the "specials / madness" era of Ska, or the new quirky fun / pish "amphetaminies / mighty mighty bosstones" type ska ?

same goes for the twits who think "R&B" is that awfull pop pish that Eternal etc have cunted over, R&B is brilliant, (the old stuff, Aretha Franklin, Otis Reading, Billie Holiday etc....

And ironically enough American R n B of the 1950s was highly influential on first wave ska. They just do things slightly differently in JA...

To those who hate rap / hip hop. Ever heard any Anticon / Def Jux or other left field hip hop? Have you heard Dalek and their Faust / noise driven beats or Cannibal Ox?

Hate jazz? Well is jazz not the broadest music genre around? I seem to remember jazz being used in most cartoons, for incidental music in films, theme tunes and loads of adverts. Oh and hip hop uses loads of jazz samples. Oh what about the Bad Plus? A broad section of the population seemed to attend that gig...

I hate everything thats bad regardless of what fucking label you choose to put on it....

But even more I hate wankers who declare they hate something because of the label someone has put on it.....

Oh I soooooo hate emo... grow up for gods sake.

Best post on this thread !! That's the best attitude because sometimes you like things that are outwith genre's which are generally a record company invention, I like some really poppy stuff, I love Dido and Tatu for example. Jo and I were discussing this the other day that when we were young there were hardly any subgenre's of music, it was rock, pop, dance etc... now they all have these weird subgenre's that I'll never understand, like music for the music not for the genre.

Cheers

Couldn't agree more. Clued up people listen to a tune and decide on a song by song basis whether they like that tune or not. For instance, I like Morrisey's 1st of the gang to die, but don't like his I forgive jesus.

And sub genres are a placebo for the musically retarded. Sunday Sport Tit pages for those so desperate to be cool that the only possible refuge for their own anally retentive distorted view of the world is the dank, damp confines of their own arseholes.

the only kind of music i would say i strongly dislike are the bands which honestly sound just like an annoying noise, i'm not saying they are heavy metal bands or whatever just the ones with a vocalist screaming which is very hard to impossible to understand, and the rest of the band playing a fast repeated horrible backing noise, which sounds almost the same as most of thier other songs
