Paranoid Android
Very surprised at that, mostly because it goes against the impression I have of Swansea being a sensible well run club. He should have been given to the end of the season at least. In my mind there was no way he would have got them relegated and so there wasn't really that much to lose in keeping him. I'm not sure how in demand he'll be in the summer, I'm sure he'll get an okay job but this sacking will just strengthen his one season wonder reputation which will put off the bigger clubs. Paranoid Android
Cool fact. Pellegrini now 11th longest serving manager in the league, he's been at City since June. Football! That's insane.
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Laudrup sacked by Swansea:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26042067Quite surprised by that, although they'd been on a bad run. Absolutely mental. The thing is, who do Swansea think they'll be able to get in to do a better job?
Eupraxia
Garry Monk, it'd seem. I think the wording of Huw Jenkins' press releases are quite telling. I don't think Michael Laudrup was sacked purely on the basis of his squad's performances and results, I actually think it's possible Laudrup intimated that his long-term future lies elsewhere, and that he had nothing coherent to offer about how he saw his future at Swansea. I think this season is a crucial season for Swansea, and they are evidently a club who desire and embrace stability and proactive planning, and I just don't think Laudrup was committing to the 'project' (sorry to use a Rodgers-ism) on a lengthy basis. Swansea need to stay up this season; if they are relegated, I don't imagine they can hold on to their more senior players for Championship football, and I'd envisage it taking a few years before they were realistic contenders to get back up to the Premier League, their apparent excellent infrastructure notwithstanding. I think Laudrup will be managing a big Spanish or Italian club next season.

This sounds like a very diplomatic way of phrasing "Laudrup waded into the chairman's office and gave it large, until he was escorted off the premises whilst chanting his own name, because he can. Woodsinho
Swansea signed Marvin Emnes - Michael Laudrup didn't know who that was. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some questioning of ambition on the back of that and bringing in David N'gog from Bolton.
Soda Jerk
It was perhaps the signing of Ngog which was considered to be gross misconduct. Because Ngog is not good.

Eupraxia
This sounds like a very diplomatic way of phrasing "Laudrup waded into the chairman's office and gave it large, until he was escorted off the premises whilst chanting his own name, because he can. Because he's Big Micky Laups" I'd actually suggest that Swansea summoned Laudrup in for a discussion to find out what his plans are, and whether he is likely to stick around for next season and beyond. I think it's the club that have been the proactive party in all of this, and I think Laudrup perhaps just didn't commit to the extent they hoped. If that is in any way close to how it unfolded, then I can absolutely see why Swansea decided terminate his contract. Soda Jerk
Get in. He was so great. Absolutely bonkers. He's going to put the fear of god into his opponents. His tackling is so dangerous, he makes Frimpong look like Tom Cleverley. He's going to scuff a few shins. Gladstone
Haha - I watched the first half of that last night. Wasn't that great to be honest, and Sociedad were very unlucky to lose the goal when they did - right after they could have had a penalty. That's surely the only way to stop Messi though. MattJimF
Sally has been complaining that the league cup final isn't going to be at Ibrox - http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/rangers/263136-ally-mccoist-id-have-bet-on-ibrox-not-being-picked-for-league-cup-final/ considering that Aberdeen are one of the finalist, would the supporters really want to go there? Eupraxia
I think the argument that the pitch and stadium would not be ready is a perfectly viable reason for the match not to be at Ibrox. 24 hours is not a great recovery period for any pitch, let alone a pitch for a cup final involving two teams who have demonstrated over the past ten months that they are interested in playing some good passing football at times. It's unlikely we'd witness the FA Cup final being played 24 hours after the Championship play-off final. Ally McCoist is just a grade-A moaning dick-sock. He and his siege mentality can fuck right off. Scotland hates you and your stupid cheating football club for a very good reason. You and your club cheated your way to success and denigrated the integrity of Scottish football as a whole. Fuck off Coisty, and fuck off Sevco.

Gladstone
Crazy own goal. The Sociedad defenders must love a HOOFED clearance close to their own goal. One of them sent one just about over the stand in the first half, which must have just missed his own goal by a couple of feet.
