Lemonade
I don't have much patience for games I'm not enjoying. I've got Left For Dead 2 that I've owned for years and only played maybe twice, and Dead Rising 2 that I've owned for years and only played once. The Kernel Loaf
I'm keen for tf2. What kinda spec is required for it? http://store.steampowered.com/app/440/'>http://store.steampowered.com/app/440/ System requirements are further down. I'll be honest - although the game came out in late 2007, the amount of new items/hats/weapons that have been added has resulted in it being quite unoptimised, so even if you easily meet those specs with a pc which is a few years old then you could see a drop in performance if there's a lot of things going on (which is most of the time as it's a tad chaotic). There are however some community-created configuration files you can use to improve performance at the expense of graphics, so if you install it and are having trouble running it then give me a shout and hopefully I can point you in the right direction. James Broonbreed
Had Farcry 3, Dishonoured and Assassin’s Creed 3 in my paws in CEX last night. Decided to go with AC:3 as a safe choice, knowing I enjoyed the other versions of it (except Revelations). Got into it last night and its bloody great! The combat is a bit different and takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it it’s fluid as fuck. A definite improvement overall. I was surprised that there’s a whole chapter of the game that you play before being introduced to the guy from the trailers/front cover, but it works really well as setting the scene, getting you used to the controls. I’ll just say, there’s a huge twist in the storyline at about the 1.5 hour mark, which was an ace start to it all. I was also a bit apprehensive about the countryside setting, and the fact that its FUCKING HUGE, but it is really well done and looks phenomenal. Feels like Skyrim in scale so far (but it’snot even close…). Anyway, 3 hours in and really recommend it to y’all. Farcry 3 and Dishonoured will have to wait. Dishonoured is fuckin' ace. Sneaking about, cutting bastards up.
Hog
Playing Farcry 3. It's a great game but it's doing my head in. Everytime go back to it, it hasn't saved the levels that I have completed so I have to do them all over again. Anyone know what's up with that? It should save automatically as you complete missions and at certain other points (exiting a shop, approaching an outpost or radio tower). However it doesn't save during missions, only checkpoints. If you die you'll go back to the last checkpoint but if you quit and come back to it at a later date you start the mission from scratch. Chris
Totally forgot about Aliens: Colonial Marines coming out tomorrow until I got an amazon dispatch email this morning. Anyone else picking it up? The most recent trailer didn't look as shit hot as the earlier ones it has to be said. Distinct lack of review action before the release as well but I assume they're embargoed.

Chris
http://i.minus.com/i212wUcwcU0eE.gif Saw that on facebook. Made me lol massively. Though I'm crying on the inside for my wasted cash. Hopefully it's not as bad as that suggests... can't believe another company can fuck up that license. Chris
Well at least it sounds like multiplayer might be a bit of a laugh.
Chris
Reviews are out now. 3/10 in Eurogamer, 4 in IGN (who just said it was bad) and 4/5 in the Guardian (seems like an anomaly). Tempted to return it unopened to Amazon
Moose
6/10 in OXM, who I tend to trust. They say the combat is really monotonous. I dunno, it's probably ok, but there are so many >8/10 games out there just now.
Chris
If I still had as much time to play games as I used to I would probably give it a chance. But I don't want to spend time playing a 5 out of 10 game that I really wanted to be an 8 or 9 when I could be playing Farcry or Skyrim. Or I could return it and buy Assassin's Creed 3 instead. Teabags
I'm gonna see if I can rent it from Blockbuster down the road first. It's a game I wanted to be so good and the reviews are just making me want to forget about it. Despite having the most bad ass weapons and armour in Skyrim and completing the main quest lines, I still find quests to do so I could just be playing that. Or kicking people's ass at NHL 13. Flights
Pretty dissapointing to hear all the negative reviews about Aliens. I was looking forward to it as it had some serious potential. I've looked at a few of the videos on youtube folk have uploaded of the various glitches and terrible AI reponses. It's pretty unacceptable that they have released a game that is plagued with that many issues.Surely an Aliens game can't be that hard to make. They did it 1999, why are they unable to do it now?
The Milner
Because its SEGA, they dont have a clue anymore, and they are so desperate for cash that they will release anything they can to try and drag some in. They have ruined almost ever title they have bought over, the only exception so far is FM.

Soda Jerk
Dunno if this has been brought up over the past few months in this thread, but has anyone been keeping up with the OUYA project? They posted the idea on Kickstarter last year, and they got $8,000,000+ of the proposed $900,000.http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ouya/ouya-a-new-kind-of-video-game-console I could explain what it is, but you might as well have a look at the Kickstarter link, and the link below, as they'll explain it in more depth:http://www.ouya.tv/ Sounds pretty neat. Not that it applies to a technophobe like me, but I love how they've left it so open, and told people that if they wanna open it up and fuck about with it, then just go ahead. At only $99, I'd be interested in giving it a go, once it's successfully rolled out.
