rowan
Anyone know about this up coming Seaton Park Festival?Line up, ticket info etc?I read on the AFC forum and they proposed line up is mad, doubt it's anything more than rumours and wishes so far... Lemonade
The only 2 rumours I've heard are Madness and Vesuvian. Neither of which really makes me want to rush out for tickets.
beetlejuice
There's a thread about this looking for local acts in the Networking bit. To be honest, it would be cool to have a(nother) festival on our doorstep. Only time will tell if the line-up will be any good. Can't be worse than Free at the Dee, can it? beetlejuice
Idlewild, Maximo Park, Futureheads, Madness, Twilight Sad, Xcerts and more I'm not caring so much about... Apparently all confirmed. Wow, I'm actually quite impressed and excited now.
The Kiosque
Idlewild, Maximo Park, Futureheads, Madness, Twilight Sad, Xcerts and more I'm not caring so much about... Apparently all confirmed. Wow, I'm actually quite impressed and excited now.Yeah, seems that the info at the moment is coming from the ticketmaster link that appeared earlierThe Kiosque Aberdeen Music: Initial Northern Lights Music Festival Artists Revealed?Since been told it's all true and a further announcement will be made this weekend. Sufferhead
Line-up is hilarious and actually quite compelling, apart from all the boring indie timewarped in from 2005. May well get a ticket for the Sunday.
Christy
The Waterboys are playing. As is Edywn. Idlewild. Xcerts...what's not to love? Cannae wait
Paranoid Android
90 for the two days seems expensive.
beetlejuice
90 for the two days seems expensive.Still more acts to be announced though. Apparently it will be multi-stage...
Jamesy
90 for the two days seems expensive. When you pay up to 30 for one band in the Music Hall?
emergency72
30 for Music Hall is a joke, but 90 for Seaton park?!?! And camping?!? The junkies are going to have a feel weekend...
Paranoid Android
When you pay up to 30 for one band in the Music Hall?Would any of those bands really fill the music hall at 30 a ticket?Anyway from what Beetlejuice says this may be a bigger event than I was imagining and basing my comment on.Still I think it would take quite a few more bands of note to be added to the line up to make this a success at that price. Skacel
90 for the two days seems expensive. For 2 full days of live music, 90 is quite reasonable imo.
Guest idol_wild
For 2 full days of live music, 90 is quite reasonable imo. So long as the multi-stage format doesn't result in bands clashing.
emergency72
Nice way to blow one weeks wage I guess...pass!
Skacel
So long as the multi-stage format doesn't result in bands clashing.True, that can be a right bastard at festivals.Kelis was also listed as a confirmed artist, reckon she'd be worth watching. Alan Cynic
I won't be going, but I hope it's a success. At least they're trying!
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Pros: Some really good bands playing, it's just up the road.Cons: It's a bit expensive for me. Neds will be there. It is great that something like this is happening in Aberdeen. If more acts are confirmed that I like, I'll probably save my pennies and get a ticket. Monster Zero
Pretty sure Madness filled the AECC the other year, sure that would have cost in region of 30. I may actually go to this, few folk on the bill I'd like to see - Madness being one, Waterboys, Edwyn Collins, Twilight Sad, fucking Kelis! In Aberdeen. Cool. Moose
This sounds like it might be quite good! I only heard about it yesterday for the first time and I scoffed like a cunt, but they've got some decent/one or two very good bands in for it. I bloody hate Madness though. kirsten
Wow! Is Seaton Park big enough for more than one stage? I've not really had a proper wander around the place for years.
Christy
Cant believe that people are moanbing about the price. A two day festival for 90 bangers featuring some actual quality acts in the city centre. Haters gonna hate etc, but the price seems perfectly reasonable to me. FatHand
90 is a fine price, they have to make money so they can pull in bigger/more diverse names for the next one. I think it's great getting something like this on our doorstep, amazing.
