  5. Dead Anyway. Agreed, their performances at Drummonds were great, but I just thought the whole Music Hall thing, plus the fact that it was The Charlatans that they were supporting, seemed to make it a bit more special, like they had finally arrived or something. That remains to be seen........
  6. What's the best gig/performance by an Aberdeen band that you've ever seen? For me, it has to be Driveblind when they supported The Charlatans at The Music Hall back in May '04. Absolutely stunning.
  7. 'Atmosphere' by Joy Division sends a shiver down my spine every time I hear it!
  8. I'm a golf nut, handicap peaked at 5.2 at the end of last season, but have drifted up to 6.7 after making a lot of changes at the start of the season, completely the wrong time!!!! Oh well! Look for pics of Natalie Gulbis (??), the American bird golfer. Would love to 'play a round' with her!!!!!!
  9. Haha! Don't you worry, big Stanislav'll chip in with a few bullet headers! Hopefully in the opposition net! C'mon ye reds!
  10. Did a Sun dream team on Saturday, phoned in the nick of time. So tough this year with only 15m to spend and the likes of Hartson being 6m etc. I tried to go for guys that play regularly and score goals. Last year I loaded my defence with OF defenders, but they're too expensive this year. Here's my team: Esson - Aberdeen Byrne - Aberdeen Wilson - Dun Utd Varga - Celtic Neilson - Hearts Buffel - Rangers Hartley - Hearts Foran - Motherwell Lovell - Aberdeen McDonald - Motherwell Miller - Dun Utd The pricing of players is hilarious, it's obviously some wee ned journalist in Glasgow, who's been given a clean slate, and has no clue about football. The likes of Neil Lennon being 3m is an absolute joke! Although I suppose if you put him in your team, you don't deserve to do well in fantasy football!!!!!!!!
  11. My favourite track is 'Bummer In The Summer', arguably the coolest acoustic track I own. Brilliant album, stunning in fact! Go and see Arthur Lee and his band play if you can people. Magic!

  16. I'm not too fussed about the actual quality of the vocal, just the style in which it is delivered. Passion's what it's all about. Roger Daltrey has the greatest rock n roll voice that I've ever seen or likely ever to see. Aside from the records, the quality of his voice was mindblowing at the Isle Of Wight festival last year. Just listen to 'Who Are You'. The greatest opening vocal I've ever heard. Liam Gallagher's voice is great when he's on form, particularly on 'Live Forever'. Richard Ashcroft has got an amazing voice as well. I'm also a big fan of Ian Curtis' unimitable, quirky, style. Ian Brown obviously can't hold a note, but that's old hat. He's Ian Brown. Legend. Danny McNamara's voice is also dreadful, as is that numpty from the Killers.

  18. You've always gotta look at trialists purely on the off-chance that you uncover a gem. McGuire done well out of Aberdeen, made a good living. With Severin more than able to play sweeper or central defence, there's no real need for him. I'm nae fussed at all that he's gone.
  19. 1. On Your Own - The Verve 2. Days - The Kinks 3. Eight Miles High - The Byrds 4. I Walk On Gilded Splinters - Paul Weller 5. Just A Touch Away - Echo & The Bunnymen
  20. Vanilla Sky. I don't watch a lot of films, but that one, what on earth! Penelope Cruz was rather scrumptious in it though!
  21. I think if no-one cared about the thread. it would've died a long time ago. The point behind it, as if I have to explain, is to, not only let people know of the type of music you're listening to, but also to provoke a bit of discussion (as has been noted several times in the thread) as to particular tracks, and to particular bands, and whether or not one rates particular records etc etc. A cliche I know, but if the thread has meant that a person has discovered new bands, or has been recommended an album that they turn out to love, then it has worked! Fair enough if you don't care, just ignore it, like I do with the majority of other threads! You've obviously got too much time on your hands min! Chill out! Just a bit of fun!
  22. I haven't heard anything on the subject, but this is normally how deals like this work. I'd have no qualms about Maloney sitting out against the Great Unwashed should he sign for us. Clubs don't want a Morientes type Monaco/Real situation! Puts too much unecessary pressure on the player. Maloney would be a phenomenon should he sign for us. Baloney my bahookie!
  23. 1. Gloria (Live) - The Doors 2. Well I Wonder - The Smiths 3. Death Disco - Public Image Ltd 4. Five Get Over Excited - The Housemartins 5. You're So Rude - The Faces "If Stan Bowles could pass a bookmaker's like he could a football, he'd have no problems at all".
