  1. I can't honestly remember if it's that one! I don't think there's a live version on it! I could be wrong though! It's a massive rectangular shaped white box, with various guitars on the front! Think it's 5 CDs, with the last one being unreleased stuff and cover versions!
  2. I think you can pick up The Jam box-set relatively cheaply these days, from Fopp and some of these places! If yer into The Jam, it's a valuable addition to the record collection! You'll see the band in a whole new light, particularly Weller.......... NAAAATURALLY!
  3. Yeah, I think it's top. I've heard it described as 'their Revolver', whatever weight you want to put on to that statement! Wonderful band. I was lucky enough to be given a shottie of the box set when I was relatively young, and so heard their entire back catalogue, which was cool! 'Direction, Reaction, Creation' it's called. Now have it on MP3. Some amazing b-sides and cover versions. 'Butterfly Collector' is magic as are the cover versions of 'Stand By Me' and The Beatles 'Rain', a brilliant b-side in its own right. I reckon I would've been a huge Jam fan had I been alive then! They had a bit of everything. Their music spoke for itself, and they also had a bit of rock 'n' roll cool, perhaps aided by their heavy reliance on Mod culture, which I find fascinating.
  4. 1. My New House - The Fall 2. Please Stand Up - British Sea Power 3. Kick Out The Jams - The MC5 4. So Alive - Ryan Adams 5. No Fun - The Stooges
  5. Aye! Quickly thrown over their cardigans, giving their hair that 'messy, just-out-of-bed' look!
  6. A great philosopher once wrote: "Going to a gig whilst wearing a t-shirt of that particular band is uncool". Discuss, citing authority and anecdotes. (20 marks)
  7. You've hit the nail on the head there loon!
  8. What choices do you regard as sublime and ridiculous, just out of interest? Remembering that famous old saying 'Da knock it till yiv tried it'!!!!

  10. Went in to buy the new Coral record today, but due to a slight miscalculation regarding finances (I had a tenner in my a/c, and tried to go OD and take out 40 but it wouldn't let me!), so had to settle for buying the single 'Please Stand Up' by British Sea Power!
  11. Hahahahahahahaha! Prof R Paisley (in a strong Northern Irish drawl, speaking almost robotocally) "BOY AT THE BACK, WEARING THE FRUIT OF THE LOOM T-SHIRT AND SPORTING A FRINGE LIKE ALEX KAPRANOS AFTER SIX MONTHS GROWTH. IF SOMEONE HAS BUILT A RECORDING STUDIO, PART OF WHICH INVADES MY BACK GARDEN'S AIRSPACE, WHAT WOULD I DO?" "IF YOU DON'T KNOW, I CANNOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE HIGHLY ENOUGH OF READING THIS TEXTBOOK. IF YOU DON'T, YOU WILL FAIL. THAT IS A FACT".
  12. Haha! P C-M was my MSN pic for a while, Narc knows about that!! "Umm, yes, treasure trove, hmmm, belongs to the Crown, hmmm, umm...." That man can do no wrong in my eyes though, cheeky 18 for Honours Moveable Property! Haha!

  15. Everyone has songs or records that remind them of particular events in their lives, whether they be good times or bad. Could be holidays, weddings, funerals etc, you name it! I've been trying to think of some for me! The Darkness - You're Really Growing On Me Absolutely detested the band and this particular track, but reminds me of the best holiday of my life to Perth, Oz. We were all piled into a big Grand Jeep Cherokee, or whatever you call them tanks, and we were stopped at traffic lights with the windows down, volume cranked right up, in what you might call a 'Wayne's World' moment! The passengers in the car next us were bemused to say the least! The Complete Stone Roses This whole album is probably the most important record of my life in terms of its impact. Not one track in particular, the whole album just reminds me of growing up, sneaking round to a mate's before discos and sipping a few 'Bud Ice' before we went out! Happy days! That album was played on repeat so many times with my mates, it most certainly had the largest impression on my musical tastes, and anything I ever seemed to buy was always compared to that record. Oasis might have been the band of my generation, but the Roses are my favourite band of all time, thanks in no small part to this compilation. The Who - My Generation Lads holiday. In bed after a night out. Fast asleep. Awake with a jump at 5am. Hear, what can only be described as an absolute racket. Frantic footsteps in the corridor, the banging gets louder. Open our apartment door to discover (along with just about every other guest on the floor, teeting their heads out of their doors) that my mate in the next room has 'My Generation' on full blast, and he's Keith-Mooning it on the table and the walls, singing at the top of his voice, obviously having had one San Miguel too many! I've never been so close to getting turfed out of a hotel in my life! Happy days!!!!
