  1. Why don't people record these things to cater for tech-obsessed musos, jeebus! Looks like a Roland SPD thingy, but definitely triggering sounds from a MicroKorg, so any pad triggers will do a job.
  2. If you can make it to the West End then Stravaigin on Gibson St or Stavaigin 2 on a wee laney off Byres Rd can be personally recommended. Haven't dined in toon much. EDIT...and its after the event! Hope twas fine.
  3. One Up has seen 'em all off, Virgin, Our Price, The Other Record Shop, Newmarket Tapes, the lot, all hail.
  4. A pretty pish year for TV, Misfits, Peep Show delivered, even a middling series of South Park beats most things into a pulp, and that 'Community' on Viva is decent what I've caught of it. Also BBC4 Friday music evenings have been good, and I've seen some nice documentaries on things. My boycott of reality TV has kept me sane, as I don't have to watch loads of divs; singing/dancing/living in a jungle/trying to get a shit job in Essex (NOT LONDON)/cooking tea for other divs/build a new house, ad nauseam, ad infinitum.
  5. Aberdeen Venue, c1987/88. As soon as they invent time travel. I'm getting right back there.
  6. Better than fuckin' 'Limmy's Show', 'aats fur sure. If they run out of ideas all they have to do is invoke some NE village, "aats twa coos mair 'an Rhynie/Rothienorman/Logie Coldstone/Finzean/ad infinitum" bingo, job done. As an exile, I'm also loving the locations, I could see my old uni departmental home of Powis Gate* 'ahin' the Robbie Shepherd 1st sketch. *Before History of Art was moved somewhere shit so that scumbag administrators could get the nice Victorian toonhoose, wanks.
  7. Ta muchly, I have vague intentions of trying to persuade some ex-Foxers to put something together, as I'm fighting shy of trying to meet randoms in Glasgow to form a band, though it might come to that yet. As for releases, I'm gonna try and build up a body of work, and disseminate it electronically, but I'm not really in the Doom Loop, as I find it impossible to spend much time in pure genre search mode. I'm looking for people that might be interested in it though, so any recommendations would be ace. A couple of new tracks at the finishing up stage, might still emerge in 2010. I made another site aeons ago and neglected it. Mondragon Multiverse I just have no ability with the hyping side of things, it's so declasse! And it leads to Partridgian Cringe on my part, Aberdonian reserve doesn't lend itself to bigging up yahself, sadly.
  8. Now I done a blog in ma troosers. (well I was wearing them when I wrote it) Baleful Eye Cue one more person screaming 'Loookat MEEEEEeee' into an uncaring void. I have no patience to develop my design skillz further either.
  9. I thought it was a Geordie food lexicon, but its not consistent enough.
  10. At least we don't have to worry so much about qualifying, missing the Cup in England would have been tragic, missing either of these two Oligarchs awaydays isn't.
  11. Sweet? 'At boys mair soor than twa ton o soor plooms, an a coupon like a skelped puddock etc
  12. At the moment I've only got Joanna Newsom -Have One on Me (good but patchy) Triptykon- Eparistera Daimones (ace) This year has been all about Freak/Kraut Rock discovery, haven't yet got the things I've fancied from this year, such as El-P, Big Boi or Phantom Band, ach, there's nae rush.
  13. Absolutely, it doesn't matter how many copies of Ravenloft they have, or even if they are personally blessed by St Gygax, shooting people's bad.
  14. Super Hans though, 'frogs coming out of her arse' etc, ace
  15. Its that bit in the Wizard of Oz, when the curtain is pulled back, except that instead of an ineffectual old man, theres a multi-headed slavering death beast, or something. All hail to the death beast!
  16. More like Wackxl. Never mind min, you'll be on the cover of Horrible Screeching Hero* next year. *may not actually exist
  17. Eddie looks shit now, like they crossed him with the Motorhead head. Did they fall out with Riggs or something? (no I can't be arsed looking it up).
  18. Won't be as good as the World Slavery Tour date at the Capitol in '84, classic line-up, no add-ons, (though JG does seem like a nice bloke), and Bruce broke his voice on that tour, and its always seemed weirdly strained since then.
  19. Looking at the Vox page, the AC 15VR is definitely not a pure valve amp, as it has a solid state power section, and only the preamp is a valve, which leaves the Peavey the only choice given what you want. Another Peavey in a slightly cheaper price range you may wanna check is the Windsor Studio combo, 20 watts, all valve, 249, haven't heard it, but it's meant to be good, at the price, and a good platform for upgrading, worth trying. Have heard good things about the ZT amps, but they are 100% solidstate, if that's important. Ultra portable though.
  20. This is a pretty lightweight discussion right here, it wasn't even worth floating by.
  21. Fuck that, Peli rules apply, no mousers, no suits.
