  1. They really should make them in Daphne Blue to start with, nicely nice.
  2. I don't care if it makes your tea into the bargain, $1200 + p&p is an insane price. RARE AKAI SB1DEEP IMPACT BASS SYNTH FILTER WAH EFX MUSE on eBay (end time 26-Mar-11 06:34:32 GMT) You could get a dude to build a synth into a bass for that.
  3. Surprised to see the Music Radar logo there, must complain to Guitarist mag. The only BOB I'll defend was the old Drummonds one AKA triumphed in, at least they weren't speaking shite, you did get some bucks if you won, and people did come along to watch, plus the announcement tension, c'mon, daddy needs a new pair of shoes etc. That thing looks like malevolent ding.
  4. Spanish Bo's Acid Castle Party of Acid at Old Slains Castle, just after passing all my exams in 2003 to go into 4th year. Nuff said.
  5. A 50 quid piece of shit with amp from Sandy's Sale Shop, Torry, in 1983, then a Satellite 10th rate LP Junior alike in 85, it wasn't till I got a Tokai distortion pedal that shit got, and I quote, real.
  6. If I can remember it, I wasn't there. No, shit, hang on, that was the late 80s.
  7. Not an album (yet) but my tip for best new track I've heard yet is Crabstep by Ubre Blanca, feat ex-Shitdisco, produced with Mikey, aka Jonee Q, previously in 2 band/projects with me (full disclosure) UBRE BLANCA | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos Not that its on that page, but I've heard a lot of stuff they are working on, and its all happ'nin', as it were. I couldn't find a more suitable page for this.
  8. Shit, I get 50 when I need to pawn mine in, I always get it back though. I don't care if the dude sells it or not, but it is well worth 70 notes, let alone 50.
  9. I thought that the Going Live roadshow had returned, misspelt, was gonna go check the Schofieldmeister.
  10. Oh ho, this is the bestest on that there. Best. Dress. Code. Ever. Hmm, this looks less impressive when posted. No mustachios!
  11. Viiiiids, Shiiits more like*. I see that Stef from Vids knocking about Byres Road all the time, I'd harrass him, but he's well massive, if I saw the Welsh guy I'd definitely make up some 'more like' shit on the spot, easier than trying to imitate his digressive competition set-ups. *Insert comical Welsh accent here.
  12. I listen to everything on my PC...plugged into 200w with 2 subs, I listen to the telly like that too. I have a dip in my hearing response that means mp3s at 320kbps sound alright, thats my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.
  13. It takes a while to siphon off decimal fractions of your cash via Switzerland, give them a break, or a lampposting, your choice.
  14. Now that would be a tragedy, even though the hugest bit of my nostalgic love is for the Rosemount Viaduct store, my portal into just how weird, cool and fascinating music can be, hope you survive, old guide.
  15. I only know of the 2-4-6-8 guideline 2-4-6-8 Fuckin banks I fuckin hate.
  16. Halfway through 'The Forever War' by Joe Haldeman, 3 from Fopp, SF masterworks series, ace Vietnam metaphor, in space. Relativistic time slip means that soldiers serving 2 years can arrive back 10, 20, 50 or more years by Earth time, depending on where they went, thus alienating the warriors from the culture they are serving. Affa good.
  17. Power structures are important though, as the more disenfranchised a group is, and the more they are likely to feel that extant power structures have no interest or duty of care in and to that group, then those in that group are more likely to use abusive rhetoric and/or action, as a means to state their case to the power/mainstream. I don't condone the use of abuse or violence gratuitously by any section of society, but I can certainly understand why some feel they must resort to it, and, in some cases, defence of your community is absolutely justifiable by any means equivalent to those forces arrayed against it.
  18. Well if more of you* devoted your time to toppling the patriarchy, rather than reading about some cellulite on some shlebs earlobe in BellaOKLookathershesaBitch Mag, then you might make some more progress. Y'don't see Ms Greer worrying about such guff, she just goes for the jugular Or have you been co-opted, HAVE YOU!! *the birds, that is** **Not all of them, but very, very many EDIT Ah, serendipity, just read this 5 mins after posting,I'm not immune to the lure of celebrity gossip, but it harms us to read this bilge | Laura Barton | Comment is free | The Guardian always a good writer, particularly on music; Laura Barton + Hail, Hail, Rock'n'Roll | guardian.co.uk, even though I usually don't like the music she loves, her writing captures the best things that music encapsulates.
  19. I like the bands that I don't care how they look, to look a certain way, y'dig. And I get that it was random page-o-matic shit, I was grousing at the world, not yer site specifically, ez.
  20. Why do so many bands have Hitler flick hairdos? Have I just noticed this phenomenom, or has it has been ongoing for ages I only wonder because there was a band full of them on yer page, so I had to axe. I don't like how bands look just now, they all look either utterly effete or like Neil Young roadies.
  21. Nah, Opto(utofsocietydude) Compression, er, waves, yeah.
