So what the fuck is taking Fender (or every other guitar manufacturer) so long to come out with an all-in-one guitar/synth, with no latency, no extra interfaces or fugly hex p/u shite (could use graphtec saddles or whatever), with good analogue* modelling. In fact, since the Korg Monotron shows that analogue synth tech is more versatile and acheivable than ever before, it doesn't even need to be a modelling synth. When the VG strat came out I thought the cool synth counterpart would be round the corner, I was wrong. *Or FM, or additive synthesis, even some decent PCM sounds.

It has a 'no mistake' mode, maybe they'll update it with a Kerry King's Kahler mode, where every note gets the tortured strangulation of a million dying cats, and I say that as a good thing.

I'm totally interested in the latency free midi aspect of it, but am unsure whether you can use it as is to control an external synth, it says it has a legacy MIDI port, so it should be possible, but implementation is everything. To write parts into a sequencer without any extra gear or compatibility issues, would also be great, playing VSTis etc. I'll have to read a review in a trusted source first, Sound On Sound or Guitarist, or the opinion of someone on here who has used it. It looks boggin' though, they could make it look sci fi as fuck.

I like re-effecting things through my Boss ME 50, using a Delta 44 to route the signal back into Cubase. Though the ME 50 is digital, it does the ace wibble when you change delay times, plus wah, phaser, reverb working in real time, great for phreak layers. Its good to take the signal for a wee walk out of the PC sometimes. Will check those sites later.

What do they sound like?

I was thinking of how you could build one into a guitar, or even just gaffa tape it on, and get some crazy LFO squealin', sound best with a fuzz circuit 1st prob. Mental how those analogue filters have been reduced in size and voltage handling.

Doubt if I can recommend anything that obscure, but I'm well liking the first 4 Tangerine Dream albums, particularly Electronic Meditation and Zeit. But thats kinda like asking for some 60s recomendations, and the reply is, there's this band called the Beatles. The 1st self titled Ash Ra Tempel album is well ace though, also Seven Up the album they made with Timothy Leary and his mates.

What I want most right now is a Diabolical Fuzz Burglar, heard a few demos, and its crazy oscillating fuzz. Diabolical Amplification or the Dwarfcraft Robot Devil Distortion and Fuzz I want chaos, in a nice neat little unit.

In the EMG brochure they claim that their tele neck p/u is the best sounding one they have. I had an 85 bucker in the 80s and it made my crappy plywood Kramer howl n growl n squeal nicely. If I had spare money (!?) I'd put a set in my crappy plywood Squier tele, EMGs care nothing for yer tonewoods, they'll deliver on anything. If only they made them look vintage with polepieces/lipstick cover, like the Strat one they do (SV).
