Rachie
I'm no goth, but mine tend not to fade to grey... maybe it's the type of washing powder you use How very metal. Heh.
Metarie
i do believe you can buy a washing powder or something which is made especially for goths. Or not. For dark clothes in fact. Think it was from persil but i'm not sure. but yeah.I could put something in here about goths and blackness and general gloomy angst keeping everything black. But nyah. Birdman
Take the tops off of 2 permanent marker pens and do you load as normal. The water will be pretty dark looking afterwards but when they're dried you'll see the difference.(not birdman)
nullmouse
The trick is to always stand in dark corners.Or, alternatively, don't wash your clothes. Filthy little gothses.

Sue Denim..
Wash the clothes inside out.... DUH!You've got it in one. Secondly, you can buy dye from John Lewis' that you just shove into the washing machine with salt. Purple however is a different matter altogether.....Sue
Teabags
The above does not amount to an admission of goth-status.that requires a strap-on, a pair of pliers, a car battery, some jump leads, nipple rings and a fuck load of incense.
