Soda Jerk
And that van Persie goal has become way over rated. I deserves it's place in the top ten for Blind's pass but it shouldn't win. It deserves to be overrated. Most strikers would have tried to bring it down. It's just silly goal. And headers themselves are underrated. A typical screamer is nearly always a strike. Be it a volley, smash, lob, whatever. It'd be great if a header won it. Paranoid Android
There's a distinct lack of team goals on the list.
Moose
It has to be Cahill's, for me. I was on my feet and shouting "WHAT?"" at the tele for that one. Amazing goal.

The pass, the technique to redirect the ball, the placement... it's a fantastic goal. Can't believe Costa's overhead isn't getting love. Overheads are often overrated. It's often just a volley with a pretty smile. In this case though, it's almost an ugly overhead but the speed at which he repositions himself and plucks the ball out the air is amazing. I love it when you remark on how animated you got when watching football. I always think you'd react to the television like this guy:
Captain America
Why didn't Wilshere's premier league goal of the season make it on the list? Great team goal. Kasami's didn't even win goal of the month when it happened.

ca_gere
I feel like Barca score similar goals all the time. It's a wonderful goal, but it's not Puskas award-worthy imo. FWIW - I think the token lower league (this year it happens to be a woman) goal shouldn't be on there, neither should the Sanvezzo rent-a-volley Edited November 14, 2014 by ca_gere

Soda Jerk
Ireland were garbage. McCarthy was a huge miss, but the game plan seemed to be to just smash it up to Walters. Coleman barely got into the game. Poor. Scotland's pressing was excellent. The goal was a stonker.
Soda Jerk
I also think Scotland will give England the runaround on Tuesday. They'll be up for it more, I predict. The atmosphere will be fiery. The England squad is largely uninspiring.

Paranoid Android
The Wilshere goal is better than most on the list. I thought about it but the other day but assumed it must have been too long ago to be included. Was it really the same month as Kasami's?
Lemonade
My favourite result from last night was Greece 0 - 1 Faroe Isles. In Athens no less. First Faroese away win since 2001!

Soda Jerk
SSN are saying Daley Blind could be done for a number of months. And David De Gea's gone done dislocated his finger. United have had 39 individual injuries since the start of Pre-season, averaging a new injury every 3 days. Must be some sort of record.

Paranoid Android
When it gets to that extent you have to question the backroom staff. It can't just be bad luck. Something about their training has to be leaving them in a condition more susceptible to injuries than normal.

Paranoid Android
Listening to the latest Terrace Podcast just now and they mentioned an extra reason why we should really hope to beat England tonight. Something I've not seen spoken about anywhere else. Apparently if we win against England and beat Ireland in March (the Gilbraltar game doesn't count) we are very likely to be in the second pot for the next World Cup qualifying campaign. That might not be as exciting as thinking about the historic rivalry but I'd be delighted to have improve our chances of finally getting back to a World Cup.
