Alkaline
Just bought one of these (Seat Leon 1.6 TDI SE 2013). I know it's not overly flashy but I'm going to be a family man next year so it had to be practical.

jester1470
I picked up a new car before Christmas, it looks a bit like this except with a UK reg. Basically a slightly newer version of the one i had, may not be the most exciting car in the world but it's diesel so it doesn't cost as much to run theoretically, it's got the nice things like dual air con, heated seats etc, cruise control so it's nice for the long journeys. It's the first time I've had an automatic and I'm still unsure but it was bought as my other half will only drive automatic and this ensures me a lift back from the pub. I really like it, but i loved the old one. It was also just about affordable which make all the difference ! Adam Easy Wishes
Nice! I always thought you were a reasonably young bloke, given your previous posts - but it really goes to show that this forum does appeal to a wide ranging demographic - even elderly women too. MattJimF
Got a kid and another on the way. No petrol to pay for, solar panels on house to use to charge the car, instant access to the full power of the car from a standing start, plus there is good charging infrastructure in the North East of England (not so much Scotland, but can still get up there!). Also I can turn off the pedestrian warning noise, and play sneak up on pedestrians before scaring them with my horn Edited January 21, 2015 by MattJimF

neepheid
Oh, I forgot to update my car story. So, after the two Fiestas, I had a 6th generation Civic 1.4i 3 door hatch. A bit like this one but a darker blue with a wanky name like Deep Adriatic Pearl or something. I continue to fail to understand what's so "granny" about this Civic, I think it looks great - big fat lights, long-ish bonnet, curvy rear. Went around in it for many happy years (6 or 7) and only got rid when I was approaching MOT time and "'eard a noise". Then I got a 7th gen 1.6i VTEC Sport: Again, a long term relationship ensued (6 years or so) but it came to a shuddering end last year when I lost control on the Ellon - New Deer road not far from Auchnagatt at a corner and binned it into a wall: Oops. I replaced it with a 8th gen Civic EX, and so far I'm very happy with it, apart from its reliance on electricky sensors and such-like. My 7th gen was probably my last "simple" car. That's us up to date. The 9th gen Civic can bugger off, don't like what they've done at all, so hoping for a good long run with this one. HateEvent
Not done much with the Supra since my last post on this thread apart from drive it and clean it I bought a new clutch: Then I bought a big carbon wing to give a bit more downforce as I was encountering some wheelspin and wobble at speed: The wing doesn't look as nice as the stock offering, but it is solely for purpose so I'm happy with it. It is also interchangeable with the standard spoiler by removing 4 bolts, so I can change back and forth as I wish
Eupraxia
I'm not especially into cars, but that Supra is pretty sexy.

HateEvent
Decided to fit a titanium 4" exhaust to reduce the restriction I was getting from the previous exhaust. Now running 1.55bar (22.5psi) of boost, so should be making around 700bhp at the flywheel now
HateEvent
Another thread resurrect Had the Supra resprayed in Aston Martin AST5052D Storm Black back in 2016. At the same time I fitted new custom order CCW LM5T 3 piece wheels; fitted carbon fibre Ridox sideskirts; fitted new Recaro SR5 seats; fitted BC coilovers and lowered it a bit further; changed to a U.K. spec rear bumper (removing the carbon diffuser in the process) and re-fitted the standard spoiler. Much better: It is still putting out around 700bhp. Good fun (when weather allows, which isn’t often!).
