Lemonade
Go to A Cut Above on Union Street, it's proper hairdressers, they give you a cup of tea and they have pictures of Jim Leighton, Willie Miller and Alex McLeish all the way up the stairs getting haircuts there in the 80s. Soda Jerk
I also go to the Barbers Pole, purely because it's closest to where I live. They do okay. I've never had a chunk missing from my hair, and they've never scissored my ear off. When I left, my hair was shorter. I deem that a good haircut.
James Broonbreed
MAKE UP YOUR MINDS. PLUMBER OR SPARKY!?? It's electrical and the new unit is an in/out straight swap. No real plumbing required just just electrics. Sparky.
Mr Owl PhD
If it helps at all, I got a plumber to do mine and this worked okay.
Adam Easy Wishes
I find employing tradesmen to be such a pain in the arse. I need a wife to stay at home and do my cooking and cleaning and letting tradesmen in but not to have sex with them.
Paranoid Android
Probably for the best, as her music was a rattle of shite. Just ahead of her time. If there's any justice in the world some label will rediscover "colours" in the future and finally give it a physical release and it will get all the acclaim it deserves. Scootray
Who replaces an electric shower? Plumber or a sparky?Sparky. If it was a new installation, you'd need both but a sparky should suffice.
KarmaTsunami
Has anyone here phoned the SSPCA before? Without going into the whole story, someone I sort of know has chucked their indoor cat out of their flat. She's a wee thing, normally very friendly, but probably terrified right now. It's due to the owner being a dick and seemingly unable to take her to Mrs Murrays despite the fact he's been told time after time by his landlord that the cat can't stay in that flat. Now, this person (a relative-in-law) has caused us shit before for involving them in disputes, so my main query is can I report and abandoned cat knowing the origin without mentioning the owner's name/address specifically, or am I likely to be told there's sod all they can do without details? KarmaTsunami
Oh, and she's been outside since 7am this morning roughly.
colb
You can call them anonymously - 03000 999 999So they can find the cat quickly it's a good idea to give them the address - but your name won't be asked for so whoever it is won't know.. KarmaTsunami
Yeah, there's only a handful of people (two or three) who know the situation, but gave them a ring anyway. Didn't leave my name or number but they know the address she was kicked out of.

The Milner
Can someone please recommend me a park/open space in town that I'm allowed to take (and use) a disposable barbeque in? Sorry i neg repped trying to hit the quote button! You should be able to set one up in duthie park i would have thought. You could always go up the very back of the scostown moors, we've done that already this summer, we had no issues. Or obviously the beach if you go down the royal aberdeen side or up to Balmedie. ca_gere
Seton Park? I remember there used to always be people with bbqs in there when i lived nearby. Come to think of it, I don't know if it was allowed or not. Either way, don't be one of those grass-burners... put it on a pile of rocks. Adam seems like a nice lad though so i'm sure he's already on top of it.

KarmaTsunami
Done. Seaton Park is somewhere I've seen/heard of folk doing this. Maybe not near the bit where the pitches/flatter surfaces are, but nearer the river?
Lemonade
None of them:http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/community_life_leisure/parks_open_spaces/pos_management_rules.asp4. Subject to 2 and 3 above no person within any of the areas described at 1 above shall:(a) Light any fire, barbecue, stove, heater or other appliance capable of causing a fire." ca_gere
That's shite! Are there not even any designated bbq area with permanent bbqs installed? It's probably just as much for the mess as for the fire hazard. I remember Seton Park used to look like a bombsite after a sunny day.
