Longhorn
I use JJ valves in my amp. Sound good to me, but never really done much A/B testing against other valves.I'm actually going down to my warehosue to fuck around with the Matamp tonight - gonna replace the EL34s with 6L6s or 5881s (or a mixture) - see if I can get a more metal sound out of the amp - get it a bit more scooped and some *chunk* to the palm mutes. stuartmaxwell
12??? Fucking hell. I managed to scam HotRox out of 2 of them. They were good on price.unfortunately it does have twelve output and four preamp, which is a cunt for retubing. but when i get to crank it (well 3.5 on preamp and master vols) it sounds fucking hugei have only in the last few weeks dialled the tone i want, so kinda hoping that the tubes dont make a great deal of difference to it

Lemonade
I sold all my stuff a couple years back when I was struggling for rent money so I'm starting again from scratch, I picked up a new Ibanez last year and a shitty beat up old Marshall 20w amp. I need a decent combo amp, a second guitar, a couple of pedals, cables, cases...
Guest DustyDeviada
Does anyone remember that flash website where you could design your own guitars? I made a p-bass looking guitar on it and remember thinking it looked great, and I'm sure this was before this squier guitar came out....I should have patented it! Ha! Yes, you were ahead of your time. Although I don't think I'll get flame maple for 76 quid!

Guest DustyDeviada
So, I got my Squier 51. Pretty damn impressive for 76 notes. The type of guitar that makes you go "hmm" when you think about how much you've spent on other guitars. The stock pickups actually sound good, but I'm going to replace them anyway, just for fun. Anybody here have any experience with GFS pickups? The get rave reviews on the web and they have bargain prices. It needs a tone control as well.If anybody is in the market for an inexpensive Fender style guitar, I would recommend picking one of these up of ebay, definite bargains. Sam 45
Diesel, do you get all this gear for a gig set up? Or is it just for home use? OR, are you going through a mid-life crisis?
