  1. fair enough, i'll decide exactly what i want from my TC then see if you can do it.
  2. the colour filter can be harsh at times. it definitely needs discussion though, basically its all good, but i think my amp is really what needs modded. its an OLD HH amp. great for what it is. i think its a VS musician 100. my dad gave it to me. i'd basically some sort of adjusted eq or a new one. they're too one dimensional. dial in too much bass the bottom string is painfully louder than the others; if i dial in too much (or even a little) treble i get ear piercing presence. i would honestly just be interested to see what you could do with it, if anything, even if it was just replacing all the bits and bobs in side for better quality one or whatever. an all round once over. because its so old theres no warrantee or anything. i've seen similar style/aged HH amps go for as little as 50 on ebay so it if all goes to shit it aint no biggy.
  3. i have a TC distortion. anything you can do with that? ideally i'd like to get my amp modded then get my TC modded to suit it perfect. can you do behringer pedals. you can get some for like 7 quid! might buy one and see what you can do with it.
  4. cliche's aside, i always liked the dagger girl tee. always though that could have been redone as it was an early one. i do like the artwork, will we need to buy the cd for the rest of it? i think the one with the bird for '...kokura' is the best out of the latest ones. the cream and red thing looked cool. 'at least your not dead' chick was pretty mangled, quite cool, but i dont think anything could top the Red Chord's Clients artwork.
  5. its all been said, just think i'd show my support for getting them to come back. probably the best band i've seen live. painfully nice guys too, knew everybody/everythings name which isn't always the case with yankee bands. they were happy to speak to anyone too. anybody know where you can track down any of pete's poems, might be an interesting read?
  6. i'm excited, going to be an excellent night. Just bought end note, and its on its way.
  7. any ideas for the best *all rounder* under say, 200 sheets? i.e vocals + guitar cabs, possibly some drums.
  8. that minor to major to spanish to exotic scale thing is impressive. probably the best tool for auto-tuning dodgy vocals too i'd imagine?
  9. yep... ya beast. this is hell and dead swans too. decent line up... any local support?
  10. a mate told me about Owen Electronics who do repairs. They also do mods and can clone pedals to sound like other pedals... pretty cool.

yeah, i heard it on the telly. the crowd were loud. wonder what it'll be like when Scotland actually score tries... WOW!

yeah, really is an awful name, poor lad. the bbc scotland commentator made it worse by mistakenly calling him wrigglesworth, which was a shame, but amusing. Today proved that England have been lucky ever since Ashton has been in charge, but there is no direction. The forwards are giving little to no go-forward and the backs... its not dire its just not effective. they have players that can win world cups, its really appauling. Scotland have few players that are world class, but yet still managed to beat them. yet to watch the Wales game... France Wales next week will be good though Dave: ace!
  13. cheers for all the help. i kinda had a rough idea but that clears things up a bit... so say i got this 4 input mixer could that then all be recorded onto one track on the unit? its a Boss BR600. Yeah, from what i hear the best way is to go with two external mics then just play round with the position til they sound good... any hints or recommendations?

    6 Nations 2008

do you like the atmosphere in Murrayfield? i think it has gone severely downhill. saying that i haven't been in a year and a half. any predictions on the score...? 30-12 (and notice 12 is a subdivision of 3) for scotland's future i think having Webster at 13 was a step in the right direction. Stick Dewey in at 12 for that oaf Andrew Henderson then maybe Scotland will form some sort of attack. Walker needs a lot of space on the wing because he is clumsy and can't sidestep to save his life, but does have a bit of pace, Webster can do that for him. since there isn't a rugby forum.... did anybody see quins vs. gloucester at the weekend? what a game... was excellent.
  15. I've got one of these multitrack type recorder thingies on its way in the post (Boss BR600). I wouldn't normally get it, but it was all i could exchange the guys at soundie for my amp... anyway... if i wanted to record 'real' drums what would be the best way to go about it. the unit has 2 mic inputs and a built in mic which is (apparently) quite good. so would it be best to have the 2 external mics just overhead and the unit in front of the drums or have one external on the kick and the other on the snare with the unit in front/overhead? also, say i recorded each drum separately... i.e. first take - 2 overheads, second take - kick and snare, third take - toms etc. that would take up the best part of my 8 tracks. is it possible to move all this onto just the one track when i've finished mixing the individual drums? that last point is probably a bit of a stretch for my skills and the capabilities of a 200 quid unit, but worth an ask nonetheless.
  16. aye t'will be cheap. it does really (REALLY) need a restringing though.
  17. peavey milestone, the mother of all rubbish basses?

Walker's alright for the Ospreys, nothing special, he is a complete oaf though. Rooting for Wales to get the grand slam. they deserve it. Has anybody else noticed that Brian Moore is now at that level of bias that is actually entertaining? The super 14, as forecasted, is vastly more entertaining than any international game in the last 2 or 3 years.
  19. i'll probably take it if he doesn't
  20. rubbish. mind you, some ill educated guitar newbs would spend a similar amount on a line 6 combo simply to find out it has the worst tone a amplifier of any sort has made. can you go that far wrong with a valve amp? i mean obviously its nae the be all and end all, but does it not always bring some degree of clarity/warmth etc etc?
  21. here you should write stuff for the articles section for incompetent guffs like myself to read and understand. if you had time on your hands like.
  22. that looks pretty smart. always nice to see a wee bit of effort put in. Even if you make 80% back on the costs of the CDs i reckon it'd be worth it. For local bands i reckon its always the best policy to do everything as well as you can and sell it for as little as possible... door fees for shows, tee, albums. I think downloading is good, but a lot of people prefer something tangible... cd vinyl tape etc. and i definetly agree with the point that if a band were even ok and there cd was 3 i'd probably buy it. incedently... have you got tracks on a myspace... interested to hear what the byre sounds like
  23. 'lame guitarist' is your boy. he seems to know everything about everything guitar related... amp mods, pedal mods, pedal repair etc etc.
  24. shame. i'll try and try one out next time i'm in Sound control Glasgow anyway... just in case!
  25. anybody tried anything from this range out yet? The older Sound City amps get nothing but praise for their tone... wondered whether this was a decent return by SC or just a crappy reissue/cash in. How loud is the 50w head if it has been tried? again, the main selling point of the previous SC amps was their volume capacity. LOUD apparently. The head retails for only 349, but i've seen as low as 300 and the matching cab for under 200. Could be a bargain.
