  1. Good DVD you were watching when you crashed?
  2. Rock Austin and the Funking Funkers The Funk Sole (Fishy) Brothers Another Funking Band Funk it up, Uras Theres no Fuck in Funk
  3. This is very true. Around the start of the 00's I was heavily into web design....the theory behind it was easy but my presentation was shit. So i got into graphic design and acted in a very similar manner...I was then able to design things which i thought looked great, but I could no longer code. Then a change of job and I could do neither. Obsessions are good....but the second you turn your back on something like that, it goes...
  4. Yes, people getting the shit kicked out of them for no reason is funny...?(
  5. I commend you for making it through OK Computer.....thats a fairly skippable album, likewise Kid A, I've never actually listened to Amensiac for longer than 3 seconds (despite owning it since it came out) and Hail to the thief has about one or two listenable songs.....haven't tried the new one..... My challenge....do some work.
  6. Theres a bit of a difference between writing great songs/defining a genre (while maybe not being the best musicians in the world) and being a band and playing bland imitated pap void of substance (while not being the best musicians in the world).
  7. Wow, thats amazingly bad! And hey, I love Academy 23 and Unit....reading Andy Martin's tales of the apostles is always very amusing, I think no one hated the band more than he did!
  8. Good luck doing the drums seperately! I'd invest in a small mixer and mic up to 2 tracks (left and right)...a kick and snare mic and two large capsule condensors overhead, that'll pick up the toms aswell... Failing that, get 2 decent mics, get the kit sounding decent, and play around with mic placement to get a real drum sound...a lot of recordings in the 60s probably had one mic on the drums!! Slam a compressor on a single mic and a bit of eq and you will have a deadly drum sound, you could overdub some single hits of the snare to their own tracks to tighten up the beat when everything else gets louds (ie. choruses, or the middle 8)
  9. Read my post again...boot with an NTFS boot disk (perhaps the windows recovery console has diskpart?)....you can't extend a boot volume when it's live!!

    Jokes

Racist walks into a bar...and gets the cunt kicked out of him...true story!
  11. I have never seen any problems with disc sizes in XP. Try running diskpart (from command line) then use LIST DISK to see if it treats the missing space as free space or not. If it does, try booting from an NTFS boot disk and running DISKPART. > DISKPART DISKPART> LIST DISK DISK ### | Status | Size | Free --------------------------------------- Disk 0 | Online | 136 GB | whatever GB DISKPART> SELECT DISK 0 (provding disk 0 is the disk) DISKPART> LIST VOLUME (as above but volumes..) DISKPART> SELECT VOLUME 1 (providing 1 is the volume) DISKPART > EXTEND It should then extend the partition to the full size...
  12. Hopefully someone will toss his body away like a pile of shit when he dies soon too
  13. Could you post some post-damage pics? I like the car and I like the price but I hate bastard garages.... What are you driving now?
  14. The original 57 beta mic (not the 57A) is great, by great I mean it's the best I've ever heard my voice. The only problem was that I kept getting shocked off the particular model, but i do like being right up into the mic, and it had a great shape for getting your mouth in close. You can do the same with a 57 but it pops way too easily. I've never found a mic which could mic my guitar cab and make it sound how I actually hear it though....
  15. I was down the "carnies" the other day with my lad hoping to show him some good video games. Apart from the abundance of shitty shoot em ups, and racing games, i couldn't find one arcade game! Crazy... What's more, we settled on a few games of mario kart the arcade as its one of his faves at home..... SINCE WHEN after coming first in a racing game did you have to enter another quid to get the next level?!? What a gip! We found Crazy taxi the arcade and cracked on for ages at it for just 50p...must be the way the games are going. I can vaguely remember the arcade days from my youth, but even by then it was dying... SF2 Alpha at the leisure centre was a good one...our youth club had a great NES arcade machine, all the NES classics, but it was a timed machine (the only benefit of which being you could reset the machine at anytime and pick another game, while your money kept ticking away), so you had to keep feeding in the coins, and you always got so far through track and field or simon's quest when some prick would hit the reset button. VIGILANTE....that was a great game! Ditto the Double Dragon's...
  16. This is a fucking fantastic idea. I think he should replace the sign "DO NOT KNOCK ON THE WINDOW" with "DO NOT TOUCH THESE BARE CABLES AS THEY HAVE 5000 VOLTS GOING THROUGH THEM" and film that. The sight of dumb little cunts frying to death would have me in knots personally....and possibly ensure a better, safer future for us all!
  17. If you like to litter your living room with speakers and cables running everywhere, then yes....but if you've better things to do with your time and just like sticking on the occasional dvd then I wouldn't think it matters. Something I must add (my opinion only) is that my new tv (lcd) displays my cd's a lot worse than it did on my old one (CRT) ... but this has always been the case, I mean dvd's always looked shit on a laptop, so why copy that technology? To the rescue they conned us into believing that we were not receiving the best television experience possible because the picture was LOW DEFINITION and our new LCD's were showing up these inaccuracies in digital picture. So they release HD tv's, and HD dvd's and whatnot, and now we have to buy our TV's and players and discs again just so it can look like we remember on our CRT's.....one step forward two back?? Also someone mentioned HD video downloads.....I don't believe this is a good idea much in the same way I don't believe downloading music (legally) is a good thing..... a. the compression used to bring the downloads down to a reasonable size will screw up the quality anyway, so you're being cheated expected to pay the same price. b. As fragile as the media is these days [cd's/dvd's/blu-whatevers], they are not under the same pressure as your hard drive, which you will use everyday, whether you are playing that particular movie or not. The chance of losing your Hard Drive to a crash/failure is pretty much a given, and you will continually need to copy to new hard drives every few years. Very expensive . If you keep a cd in it's box on a shelf for 10 years, chances are it might still play after that time! Blu-Ray = con, but makes DVD's almost bearable to watch again on newer TV's HD-DVD = don't care which came first, but why try and create 2 standards?!?! Especially to do the same thing.....At least betamax had some advantages over VHS (which were lost forever).
  18. I control some of the lesser known CCTV cameras in Aberdeen. It's amazing what some people from this site get up to... By control I mean sit and watch it and take a video if anything funny happens that i can use to bribe people.
  19. What about Native Instruments battery? The original version (current is battery 3) should run on an old machine, and is probably very cheap to buy if you don't know how to download torrents...(ahem) You just drag and drop samples to the cells (and you can multiple samples to a cell and control which is triggered by setting velocity ranges) as well as an easy "learn" function for assigning the pads to cells. Pretty dope the kids tell me. I have the maudio trigger finger which is very similar, and i always planned on doing this sort of thing, but felt like abit of an idiot using it after a while, didn't see the point in using a computer to cut up samples and then triggering them with a unit when i could use said computer to sequence the samples into order and never have to press any buttons. That's when i decided it was time to pick up a set of drum sticks again.... ?(

  22. While not substandard songs, I've always thought Mike Thorne's keyboard/piano contributions to Wire's songs (particularly Outdoor Miner and Another The Letter) really add another dimension to their music and make the songs come alive.
  23. If the film scoops any awards they can hang it next to her "Hide and Seek Champion 2007" award
