  1. *grumble*.. it doesn't look that good yet. Although I'm kind of looking forward to Travis because they were the first band I really really got into, and were also my first gig. Ahh . Then the Coral might be ok. I'm counting on you, "to be announced"
  2. Tigerfin split up? Alas I liked them... I got them to sign a setlist and one of the signatures appears to be written in Arabic. How did the gig go? I hope the support bands got out intact
  3. That's rad! I'm gonna make it my mission to learn everything on that page. By the way, apparently it's a drove of swine, for general use, a doylt of swine, if they're tame, or a sounder of swine if they are wild and there are over 12 of them. So in an insult I suppose you'd be talking about wild swine, but doylt definitely sounds the best
  4. A'iight! I went to see this at the Belmont today but I'm watching it again. Never got the significance of the book with the fat people drawn in it... anyone know? And the Ring 2 (American) is previewing tomorrow and the Ring 2 (Japanese) is on C4 same time tomorrow!
  5. Give Yourself Goosebumps was the best! The picture on the Egyptian mummy one used to scare me but my favourite was probably Beware of Purple Peanut Butter or the comic shop one As for Point Horror, I had the Babysitter trilogy when I was 9 or so and was shit-scared of it, so I hid it under my bed. Then a couple of years later I got it out and laughed at myself, flicked it open to read a random page, landed right on a page with a dead spider squished in it and chucked it straight back under! Spooky
  6. How much are T tickets selling for these days? I was thinking about selling mine (weekend camping thingy). I probably won't in the end but just wondering about prices because it would let me go on holiday earlier and skip some overheating/tourist overcrowding in Europa.
  7. I really enjoyed the gig.. well, I left around ten fifteen so missed Black Atom but the rest was pretty good. Baby Karma were great and a lot of fun - the covers were well done and I liked their own stuff too - I love Because acoustic and it was nice to hear it all banded up too! And I thought Emma's vocals were really good actually.. It was a little quiet, perhaps, but I think the vocals were underamplified and the keyboards were a bit too loud (not that that's a bad thing, especially with such a Rather Dashing keyboardist as Richant!) but the actual singing was great and not weak at all. Mind Gone Blind's set rocked too (I think the two first acts were the best), their own material is good (better than the samples on their site as well) and I liked the covers too. I wouldn't say they murdered Pink Floyd at all!! I mean... a little screwy trying to do Pink Floyd without a keyboardist.. *grumble* but they did it well and it was a great song choice that got people singing along. Plus the bassist looks like Phil Collins. The X-Certs were good, they aren't really my kind of thing but they're clearly all top performers and got a good crowd reaction Umm... Onion Terror and Stayover have become entangled in my mind but with some help I think I've managed to figure out which was which... both were pretty cool, Stayover's "Bring on the Sluts" and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" were good fun and the medley thing by OT was a nice idea and got a great 80s atmosphere going. And now that I can't say anything about Black Atom I feel bad so I'll just say that THEY WERE AWESOME! Thanks / well done to everyone involved in the organisation!! 8 was kind of a lot but I reckon it was worth it
  8. Yeah' date=' fo' shiz, but if there's a possibilty that there [i']is something after death then shouldn't you make an effort in your 'life' (ie. life on Earth, or whatever we're in right now.. y'know) to get the best afterlife you can? I mean, imagine if the whole God and Heaven vs. Satan and Hell thing is real. You should be good in your life so you get into Heaven. And if it turns out that it doesn't exist, then it'll be a waste of time (apart from that people will have liked you and all that) but will probably have been a better decision than chancing it and ending up doing fiery manual labour for the rest of eternity. We talked about some guy who said that in philosophy. I'm too lazy to think about the afterlife (or lack of), anyway.
  9. Oh boy! You know the scene where the Lost Boys attack Hook's ship ("Has it been three days??") by swinging onboard using all those ropes, and then Jack realises who he is again ("S'my dad... Peter Pan!") - the triumph in that scene! And the music! Aw man... pure mayjik! I didn't catch it whn it was on but it all came flooding back when I was woken up this morning by my friend holding an invisible spoon and saying, "Believe, Peter! Believe!" And what wonderful food it was.
  10. I have a really old acoustic guitar called Howe An electro acoustic guitar called Hackett A Roland XP50 called Keith A rubbishy Yamaha PSR-something low keyboard called Keith And a piano called Keith It's kind of funny really, because I always do things like stop playing Keith so I can go and play Keith
  11. Yeah, the Far Side rules! I have a couple of old calendars and some of the caveman ones are just great
  12. In fifth year we went to see the Barenaked Ladies and we saw a couple of sixth years that we really fancied so we spoke to them afterwards because we were collecting mailing list stuff anyway and it seemed like a good opportunity. After the gig we met the band and got them to sign some little BNL flyers or something and we got some extra for these guys. Back at school the moment was gone and we didn't dare approach them for the rest of the year, although I think my friend carried the flyers in her pocket every day I slagged her off for not giving them to the guys, since she really liked her one a lot more than I liked mine, and on the last day she was too embarrassed but I decided that we were never going to see them again so I took the flyers and went up behind David ('my one') and was like, "David?" so he turned around and said "yeah?" but during this time I thought, Oh no! I'm not meant to know his name! He'll think I found out his name on purpose! Back track! Back track! so I quickly covered my tracks by adding, "..if that's your name.. because I don't really know." He looked slightly weirded out... then I jumbled all the stuff about the flyers at him and gave him them and got away quickly. He was a really nice guy actually otherwise he probably would have laughed at me.
  13. 10/10 for ELP and Genesis! Even though more than half of the Genesis ones were (almost-)sub standard Phil Collins pop songs!
  14. Bodast

    keyboards?

I'm sorry Richant... but.. Richant?! That is one laughable stage name
  15. Dagnabbit - just when I'd got the hearty mental hum of the Barbarian by ELP going, you mention humming and I remember that I'd been humming Obviously by McFly all day. And now it's back. Louder... clichder... eviller.
  16. Although I only decided to post this one because it makes me look more interesting because someone wanted to talk to me

    Msn

Nope, but I did have to refresh a few times to get into my Hotmail account earlier, so maybe there is a problem. :-/ I'll probably get booted off as soon as I hit submit....
  18. No problema Doc, I wasn't mental'd out or anything (just a little abashed at my lack of gamer knowledge!). While we're on the topic of vide-o-games, does anywhere in Aberdeen fix Dreamcasts? Nobody seemed to like Dreamcasts but they were so small and neat and white, the controllers are just the right size and they had my favourite games (Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi and Soul Calibur THE FIRST). Ahhh... You can impress yourself with new age graphics all you like, I'm never happier than when I have a SNES under one arm and a Dreamcast under the other. Maybe it would be cheaper to buy another one actually, rather than getting mine fixed... dunno what's wrong with it..
  19. Doesn't the sound of his voice on early songs like More Fool Me and For Absent Friends, and backing in the Musical Box, redeem him a little? He's adorable!
  20. Well, I've been off school for two days and if I'm going to get tomorrow off then I'll have to say I hardly slept and what better way to do that than to actually hardly sleep? Plus jester1470 has shown me a most entertaining site on which people review Scottish prostitutes! http://www.aberdeengirls.net/frames_page.htm Earlier I was also learning how to play blues piano off www.playpianotoday.com/blues which is quite good actually, but after lesson 10 you have to download a .exe file and my connection is awful and busy: Downloading Yes videos. http://yesmuseum.org/video/ For Steve Howe is your saviour. Oh yes.
