  1. Ah, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... best picture ever!!!
  2. Reykjavik 101 - Had it for yonks and finally got round to watching it. Labeled as a 'hillarious black comedy' it wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs, but had a few good lines / scenes. The plot follows a loser, who's mum comes out of the closet and he's forced to change his ways - after he accidentally pumps his mum's girlfriend. Film looks good and the story's not exactly clichd. Some of the scenery and general feel you get of Iceland is worth watching it for alone. Good, but not quite on par with the awkward dark comedy films of Todd Solondz (Welcome to the dollhouse, happiness etc) - which I think it was trying to achieve. 6.5/10
  3. Both season 'Finales' have been disappointing IMHO. It feels like, after 5 brilliant episodes, they try to wrap it up all nicey-nice and add a bit of friendship morals. Still, it shouldn't take away from the fact that it's one of the best comedies on telly.
  4. Once you get over the initial "where the fuck are all the buttons" panic Mac's are actually fucking ace for using, especially since Photoshop CS4 Exploits Mac Hardware Features!!!! I currently run CS4 on a normal MacBook (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / 4GB ram) and it's stupendously fast, with practically zero lag. Used to have CS3 with a 2.4GHz / 2GB ram desktop and it was alright but I wouldn't go back for love 'nor money!!! also, there's probably a reason why the uni uses Macs...
  5. Tell them it was a Christmas / birthday present and you don't have the receipt... This worked for me twice in the past with my PS2; fried one and the ball-bearings flew out of the spindle table.
  6. Don't suppose anyone's got a spare clutch ticket or two!?!?
  7. Watched a film called Red Road at the weekend and really enjoyed it. It's about a Glaswegian CCTV operator - quite a rare filming location, and probably made it more interesting for a Scot watching it. Top drawer acting from most involved and the story really draws you in as the film progresses, leaving you guessing a lot 'til the end. In true Scottish cinema style, it doesn't really portray us in a great light, but is worth picking up! On a Scottish Cinema theme, Sweet Sixteen is also a brilliant film.
  8. Me, looking like a dick. (nothing new)
  9. Has anyone got a Sky+ HD box and if so, how do you like it? Also wondering what the basic channels are, the most comprehensive list I can find is this one and it only looks like you get about 18 (mostly gay) ones. For an extra tenner a month I'd be expecting more than fashion TV, although the disc space is a lot bigger so you could record far more SD shows... Just looking for general opinions more than anything.
  10. Let the right one in: saw it last night and was totally, 100%, utterly underwhelmed - the amount of buzz this film's generated made it even more disappointing. The story of the friendship between the two teenagers is pretty good, and their acting is superb, but that's where the good stuff ends. Everyone talks about how beautiful it looks - but it's only OK. The story's pretty slow and nothing much really happens for the most part. The first hour the film could have been named "Daily vampire errands". The mundane-ness reminded me of Lukas Moodyson films, but not done as well. I couldn't tell if the black comedy moments that broke the film up a bit were meant, or if it was jumpy / scary moments gone wrong... Below are the cliches / spoilers that people may miss The chick vampire used to be a dude!!!!!! Her 'Dad' is clearly a previous 'lover' Oskar is 're-born' in the pool at the end (pulled out of water by a female) - LOL Oskar's dad is gay - LOL Overall it got more laughs than shocks, glossed over some risky material from the book (drugs, theft, pedophilia, prostitution) and is probably one of the most over hyped films I've seen. I also spent the whole time waiting for a Lordi cameo. I know for a fact that when it's released on Amazon it will come with the caption "Customers who bought this also bought..."
  11. Don't tell me you've stopped talking about girls frothing at the gash / clunge now that you're over 18 My only complaint about Season 2 is that they've made Will at least 300% more cringe-worthy, which puts him in the 'total weirdo' category. Episodes are a bit weaker in S2 but it's still top-drawer. Best running joke has to be the 'Oooohhh Friends.... Car Friend.... Thumb Friends' lines.
  12. Just make sure the Sky+ matches the episode lists online or something... our series link FAILed because it started at different times every night.
  13. Wire Box sets cheap, cheap, cheap! Thought I'd share this with you folks on here... First 4 seasons for 42... I think so!
  14. MySpace.com - Paul - 42 - Male - - www.myspace.com/probablythebestpromoter
  15. This is the best sci-fi film I've ever seen. Puts every other time-travel story to shame and is so complex that it took me about 3 viewings to fully comprehend everything that went on because they make no attempt to dumb it down (honestly thought I had learning difficulties after watching it the first time) I've watched it about ten times now and it's still great to watch!
  16. It's a solar-powered sex panel (or something like that) No other memories before this forum is razed to the ground...
  17. If that's the film where the entire cast fucks the other entire half of the cast whilst playing tennis then yes, this is also a great Spanish film!
  18. Spanish Films Amores Perros: Same director as Babel, but a bajillion times more origial and better (in my all-time top 10) Bad Education: Almaldovar film about sexuality. Gael Garcia Bernal is also a brilliant Spanish actor Jamon Jamon: Funny rom-com / drama where Penelope Cruz gets her tits out! Volver: A film almost dedicated to Penelope Cruz's tits. Open Your Eyes: Obvious one, original Vanilla Sky (probably got Penelope's tits too) Intacto: Amazingly shot film about gambling and luck, starts slow but is worth persevering with! Nine Quees: Con-man film about con-men! Thesis: If you like thriller films this is a must... all about snuff! Live Flesh: Very sexy drama... another Almaldovar classic. Novo: Like Momento, but a lot, lot sexier! Y tu mam tambin: very ace story, sexy sexy sexy. Overall, it makes British cinema look a bit boring. Basically anything with Gael Garcia Bernal, Javier Bardem is worth a watch!!!
  19. Inbetweeners is easily the best sit-com on the telly. The acting's spot on and you can pretty much relate to every storyline (unless you were a total square). Watching the first episode of S2 tonight!
  20. Got a love film in my house at the moment. 3 discs at a time for 16 a month. You can return one or all three and they post the next lot back to you straight away. Hardest part is keeping a wish list long enough! Also, keep an eye on the trailers as they're mostly good ones!
