  1. In 8 years of gigs in bands and acoustic I've never had anything in writing before a gig. Only thing close to this was writing out the set-lists (PRS forms?) at the Lemon Tree.
  2. Thank fuck for that. We can all stop pretending there's an economic recession and start giving money to cancer research again.
  3. I found a knob in a chair once...
  4. My favourite line is: "My mates have this crazy idea that..." "YEA, IT WAS ME!" Tried watching the Kite Runner a few nights back but it was just too boring and slow to finish. The kid actors were alright but the pace totally killed my interest after 45 mins - first film I've switched off in ages. Also caught UKM: The Ultimate Killing Machine with Michael Madsen the other night. Was a pretty good b-movie. Loads of fake gore and the typical stereotypes of society getting into trouble... worth a scan. Finally Pterodactyl, another B-movie starring none other than everyone's favourite foul-mouthed z-list rapper... COOLIO! Was actually a fucking ace film, with not bad special effects. Clichd, but definately worth checking out any reruns on the Zone-Horror channel (which is fucking brilliant)
  5. Doing the Edinburgh marathon the week after this, may enroll for the stroll though. Any ideas why they've left it so late this year?
  6. Fucking Yas min! Looks like I may not have to wait that long to watch it all again. I think an episode every weeknight is FAR too much though. Two a week max would be enough viewing for the average punter.
  7. Season 5 Just finished season 5 last night and was pretty disappointed. It did a sterling job at wrapping up all of the stories but throughout the season it never really took off, all of the new characters in the news room were never fully developed to the extent of previous seasons, and the main story regarding the homeless is really, really stupid. All-in-all everything neatly swings back to where it started in season 1, albeit with the next cycle of police / dealers / junkies - probably the biggest theme over 5 seasons, which is quite a grim (but realistic) way to end it all. Would definitely say it was worth a watch, but don't expect it to measure up to seasons 3 & 4! Will definately be watching the whole lot again in a year or so!
  8. www.mnftiu.cc Blog Archive - Clip art comics (Fighting), site seems to be slow today. Just keep reading and hitting 'next' www.mnftiu.cc Blog Archive - Clip art comics (Filing), site seems to be slow today. Just keep reading and hitting 'next' That is all you need for now!
  9. It's scary how much Stu's ENTIRE FAMILY all look similar!
  10. Kef days (still haven't been paid) Fly on the wall inside cover Kebab competition Playing on the big radio station! Brian being forced to sing along to Total Eclipse of the Heart. First ever gig: half of St Machar storms Drakes and gets shit-faced!
  11. Here's a bunch of pictures I've found on my computer over the past few years. Russial Sailor Sergei storms the stage at the Moorings... Christmas gig - Yule log competition Keep fit with Onion Terror (Lemon Tree) Andy 'Adny' Coutts Picking up gongs!
  12. Saw The International on Sunday... Wasn't impressed in the slightest. To me it was just another "multinational organisation controls every part of your life" film where only one guy can bring them down... and after the end, you realise it's all fruitless!!! Loads of cheesy clichd lines and have never really rated Naomi Watts, Clive Owen's OK, but has been pretty much typecast as his 'girtty-man-with-shady-past' guise... Only saving grace was the shoot-up in the Guggenheim museum - which explained why the exhibit was so gash!!
  13. I just heard the last show (and news of it being that) on Sunday. Came as a bit of a shock as the Showcase attracted a LOT of bands, of both the local and touring varieties. It was also good to get a shot at playing to such a big broadcast area, with a totally professional DJ and support team. This show will be missed and thanks for the opportunity! Good luck to Andy and the pundits too.
  14. Can't believe nobody else has seen this beast, here's more screenshots to give you an idea of the film's style.

  16. The Fall (2006) Watched this wee gem yesterday and was totally blown away. The look, style and feel of the film are amazing and worth the price of the DVD alone (pictures below). Some reviews slate the story for being weak, but when a film looks as mind-blowingly good as this, most will. Apparently it was shot in over 20 countries and must have been in dozens of more outstanding locations; it also took approx 4 years to make. I would say is that it must be watched on a huge television to get the full effect - and on Blu-Ray / HD is possible. The idea is pretty basic: an guy in hospital tells a girl a story of 5 heroes and their quest to kill a baddie. It's a bit slow at times, but both the 'present' story and the fable itself are good, and nearly all of the actors pull out top-drawer performances - especially the young girl. A must-see film!
  17. If I hear about him hugging a certain grotty French city one more time I may well blow my head off!!
  18. I'm regrettably selling two Ed Byrne tickets for next Tuesday's COMPLETELY SOLD OUT show at face value: 17.50 each. NOTE: the seats are in the stalls and one row / four seats appart... PM for my mobile number. Gutted I can't make this
  19. I was in Kenny's Music (Dundee) last month and overheard the Gibson saga... totally sounds like they've shot themselves in the foot there. They also had a big selection of guitars and very reasonable prices. Would be well worth a trip if anyone was thinking of buying.
  20. They'd better be going to back to Enema / TOYPAJ / +44 sound, none of the Blink / Angels and Airwaves epic pish... And I really hope DeLonge drops his jesus complex.
  21. I've got a bedroom full of (road) signs, posters and notices from long walks home after 3pm. I once pinched a cone and got a load of strangers to sign it for a friend that 'was in hospital and not doing too well'. After about 30 minutes on Belmont st it was covered in "Get ell soon" messages but it got re-confiscated by the police and is probably sitting on a motorway somewhere...
