  1. Was looking in to these the other week but try to read as many reviews as you can because there seemed to be a lot of shitty models on the market. The ones with mainly positive reviews were coming in a 150 and above... rubbish. Paul's top tip is getting everything done/ready the night before (shower, clothes, grub, bags etc) then wake up as late as you can and pretty much walk out the house... Leave it late enough and you HAVE to get up - no questions.
  2. The Dawn of the Dead re-make is one of my favourites; purely because it's one of the films that (literally) put a new lease of life into zombies by no longer making them lame! (along with 28 days later). All the original Japanese horrors (Ring, Grudge, etc) are pretty scary, especially when compared to their lame re-makes. I've also had a copy of Suspiria for years but am too scared to watch it because it's apparently fucking mental! My overall favourites are my 30 or so Vipco Horror DVDs (collection of proper b-movies): cannibal ferox, zombie flesh eaters, nostril picker, toolbox murderer, driller killer, psychic killer, rats... Picked them all up for 5 when they were available in HMV and they're either ace, or so lame that they're still ace!
  3. Indeed... Come on folks... don't tell me EVERYONE else here only listens to bands that are big in the UK / US? Global Music Markets by album sales: USA: 37-40% Japan: 9-12% UK: 7-9% Germany: 7-8% France: 4.5-5.5%
  4. Pretty pish considering how much of a legend Charlie Brooker is in Screenwipe, Brass Eye and almost everything else he's touched. Would have been an ace Halloween special or film... pretty gash to spread it over 5 nights though. Only good thing I got from the first episode was the insight into the backstage of television production (or at least Big Brother). Other than some pretty good black comedy moments the rest was pretty generic and unoriginal.
  5. Dates for your diary. December 11th - Tunnels - 3. Onion Terror Annual Christmas Extravaganza!!! December 14th - Tunnels - 2 Supporting 'I Am Not Left Handed' from Ireland! I am not lefthanded More details on each gig to follow but for now we need to know of any CHRISTMAS REQUESTS that anyone would like to put forward!! Cheers m'dears!
  6. Same on Lord Farq! Just saw this on the BBC site, thought it may be of interest. Talking Shop: Rhys Darby
  7. I'm looking to find a heap of new, good, albums from bands that are pretty big or successful overseas (or just in their home nation) but have little, or no fame in the UK / US. Porno Graffitti - Romantist Egoist. Some funky J-rock with loads of cool riffs. Take their name from the Extreme Album Pornograffitti. L'Arc-en-Ciel - Smile / Real. More pretty staple J-rock but very well produced and epic. Oomph! - Delikatessen. Compilation album from a band that sound like, but actually pre-date Rammstein. Any such help would be dandy. Cheers.
  8. Maybe her live comedy isn't amazing but not many Americans cut the mustard over here. Besides, most people already know that humor is inferior to humour! I think she's alright. Her scetches are quite funny and most of the stuff on youtube etc is of a decent standard. I particuarly like her tunes, and not to mention the fact that Brian Posehn is in her show! Also, as mentioned she's stunning - TITS or GTFO!
  9. Haven't seen / heard any solo stuff although he was pretty good in the original radio series of FOTC! On a side note... when did the outagain forum go under? Tried to log in the other day and it looks like the whole site is down / has been gone for a while!!!
  10. I'm pretty sure that it's written by proper novel writers (as opposed to TV writers), hence why the episodes are more like chapters, and the seasons like volumes of one massive story. This is probably the biggest reason why the characters are all so detailed, believable and flawed - and as mentioned already, a lot of normal people and real convicts / cops are involved as actors or the writing process. I've watched the first three seasons so far and have been totally blown away by it, although feel that the first part of season two was pretty weak, until they brought back the dealers story. My favourite thing about watching the wire is that you really want everyone to win: the cops, the dealers, the dockers and the junkies... who'd have thought you'd be shouting "Nooooooo" at your telly when a dealer gets shot!?!? All the box sets are down to the 20 mark in HMV / Zavvi at the moment... anyone missing out on this is a FOOL!

  13. My Spidey senses say: MySpace.com - Origin - UK - Electronica / Techno / Drum & Bass - www.myspace.com/originclub Good idea getting a gig/clubnight at the weekend! I remember when Henry J Beans used to have free bands on a Friday / Saturday night with grub on the tables aswel, it was ALWAYS packed. Them wur de days!!!
  14. As Graham C once told me; they're not 'problems' it's extra character!
  15. Have you tried putting up an ad on Gumtree? It's amazing for renting, might be decent for buying / selling also? Gumtree.com: UK's No. 1 in classifieds - jobs, property, cars and more I had a room to rent on there a few months back and was flooded with responses.
  16. Sainsbury's sell their own version of these: "A West Midlands family is playing a central role in the quest to raise the profile of a forgotten British dish - faggots. The Doody family from Wolverhampton has been crowned The Faggot Family in a national competition, and to kick off their reign they will launch National Faggot Week. …Her husband Fred added: “It’s unfair because faggots were a British delicacy long before any of the others. …”The great British faggot is full of flavour and a great belly warmer at this time of year.” …The competition was organised by faggot producer Mr Brain’s Faggots."
  17. The Onion Terror drummer recently completed his music teaching qualification and is looking for students, if you want to PM me your number I can give it to him tonight. He's been playing drums for 10+ years and can play all styles (has also won trophies as an international pipe-band drummer) as well as most other percussion instruments etc.
  18. A logo should be two things: instantly recognisable and easily replicated (almost every metal band font FAILS spectacularly on both counts). Every other detail is a footnote. The logos above using pictures are alright but you won't be able to get it on a cheap sticker / spray pain it somewhere etc. I bet that almost ANY famous logo you think of has 3 or less colours and if they have a font it'll be simple: Mac, Shell, Adidas, Batman, FedEx, Playboy, Levis, Burger King, MacDonalds, Volkswagen, Nike, DC, Disney, Wii, Youtube... the list is endless.
  19. Party sausage rolls if the last gigs have been anything to go by!!! Can't wait for this, it'll be a cracker!
